How about F1 2023 which is on GamePass & has a good, solid single player campaign?

As others have said, loads of stuff on GamePass. You could download the previous Battlefields & do their campaigns.

Dead Space, Resident Evil. Perhaps those - both 15+ hour campaigns

Went to play cyberpunk, immediate 44gb update!

I guess that means no bugs though so that’s all good.

Played the first couple of missions, hoping it opens up to be less ‘fed’. Graphics look absolutely amazing!

Yep it does open up massivley, you can spend hours open hours on the side missions and encounters and not even touch the main story if you want. The latest patch was out last night so you should be good to go!

If you like platformer games then Ori and The Blind Forest and The Will of the Wisps are amazing.

Planet of Lana is also a fantastic game in a similar vein but maybe not as hard or as lengthy.

Always worth going back and playing the Gears of War and Halo series if you've never played them on Xbox before - outstanding 3rd and 1st person shooters.

Another shout for Wreckfest, once you get used to the mechanics of the handling the game is absolutely superb for the occasional blast when you want to zone out.

Same boat, after years of not having time to play any games. Bought a new xbox and gamepass.

So far Ive enjoyed;

Firewatch
Starfield
Mass effect
Hell let loose (its online, which like you I dont usually do. But there something about this game thats just different)
Forza Motorport (not enough tracks to keep intrested tbh)

Im excited to play the Robocop game & new Alan Wake next.

The game pass is great, as you can just try a few games until you find one that keeps your intrest.
Hell Let Loose.

Wow, how did it take me so long to find this? I absolutely love it. It could have been made for me. WW2, huge maps, tactical, atmospheric, beautiful, tense. Potentially best game ever in my book - and I don’t like online FPS much.
Amazing isn't it smile So good when you're in a squad that's working together.

OP - I think Baldur's Gate 3 is on Xbox now? Didn't think it was my sort of thing but it really is as good as they say, and certainly ticks the solo big map adventure box.

Wreckfest is superb as well, the antidote to racing games.

Definetly get the game pass. Can get a bash at all sorts of games.

I bounce between the new Forza (disappointing) and Snowrunner (more addictive than it should be).

Occasionally fire up GTA or Rocket League.
Snowrunner appears to be PC only.
Nope it’s available on Xbox and it is weirdly compelling.
thumbup I looked on the Xbox iPhone app and it listed as PC only but indeed it’s downloading now smile
What a spectacularly frustrating game!

I finished cyberpunk at the weekend and started phantom liberty. Over 70hrs total play.

Took me a while to get into it, and I must admit I skip a lot of dialogue, but what an incredible game. Thanks to those who recommended it.

I'm in need of some recommedations too...ive got Gamepass ultimate and tried loads of games, but cant seem to stick to anything. I play very rarely and whenver i do jump on the xbox, i usually play fortnite, or a couple of races max on forza motorsport.

Tried the likes of fallout series, residnet evils, new tomb raiders, but cant get the hang of the crafting element. It just bores me and it seems necessary to level up to any decent state.

I did find an indie game last year, Inside, and it was brilliant! Simple side scrolling puzzle platformer which was very atmospheric, no instructions or guides, just thrown staright in and had to figure everything out as you go. Would recommmed if it's still on there.

I bought RDRII but cant get the time to properly get into it, and again, seems to involve too much crafting for my liking.

Something simple, little dialogue, no crafting or online. Suitable for a quick 20min-30min blast. Problem is i only do this about once a week or so, so if its too complicated i cant remember how to use all the controls when i pick it back up. Fortnite is perfect for this for me.

Strategy games ive tried too, as well as mount and blade II...cant get into them.

I'm mid 40's and didnt game seriously since PSOne and even then was only Gran Turismo....had a 360 years ago but only really played LMA manager games/cant deal with FM, too much information. LMA was a perfect blend of just the right amount of tactics and player pool to make it enjoyable without being too indepth.

Any old school type games on Gamepass that i should try?

Have you tried far cry? There is a crafting element but I ignore it and don’t think it adds much, fc6 largely did away with it. RPG based but when you get going is easy to dip into for an hour. I’m the main it’s a sandbox shoot ‘em up, no strategy involved.

Sniper elite also great but 30mins wouldn’t get you far each time. Even rushing a level is maybe 2hrs gameplay. Very satisfying and weirdly relaxing, shooting ze Germans in the head and scurrying off.

I did have a decent go at far cry 5 last year and enjoyed it...felt it got a bit samey though, but you're right, not too complicated and a good shout to maybe pick that series up again and try 6.

You sound very similar to me, although I do try and carve out a bit more time for RPG games however I totally agree it can be very difficult to get into them with only 30mins a go.

I loved Inside, another indie game that is very good is Firewatch; very different to Inside but very easy to dip in and out and a very good story. Not too long either so worth a go.

Much like you I tend to go to Forza, or Call of Duty tbh for the multiplayer. World of Warships can also be pretty good for those short blasts.

Or, and stay with me on this, Powerwash Simulator....... rofl It's surprisingly calming and satisfying.
