Having played BF Vietnam for a few months and having gone from the status of 'utter crap' to 'not so embarrassing', I thought I could pick up where I left off with BF2 - WRONG!

I have just spent the last hour or so playing my first 'proper' multiplayer on BF2 and managed to score about 5 points (two kills, the rest were scored by taking completely undefended flags), while getting a right proper shafting from every other player; I even got run over twice by a bloke in my team!

So, c'mon you BF2 addicts out there, and tips for a noob?

One piece of advice: don't play multiplayer yet! You're playing against guys like me with something like 200-300 hours of playtime and now every inch of every map.

Best thing to do is play in single player for 5-10 hours or so and learn the rules of the game, how the different weapons feel, how to quickly give commands etc. When you finally join mutliplayer, you will be killed, a lot, it's just something you have to accept, but over time, you skills will come through.

Anyway, the game is all about team work. Pick a squad to join from the menu and stick with them. At first I'd choose a medic and hang around at the rear of the squad, watching what they do and reviving them when they drop.

as they said. but I love the game myself but cannot find time to spend on it like others. Young family and all. but am doing quite well and spent a few hours as commander and won all 4 rounds when doing to. not me I know more like better players on the same team

try joining maps with only a few people on. great as you get a chance to find out the map and not get killed too much.

aslo there is got to be noob maps around like they have on CS
