As I have now got the Xbox 360 , After testing it, it has now been taken away from me to go under the tree to be opened christmas day.

I want to be able to play online on Christmas/Boxing day.

But I have a few questions

I think in my package (Core) I get 1 months free gold membership so I can play PGR3 with PH & friends

But Do i Need the HDD to play online?

My unit hasn't got a network cable in the box but I have loads of that anyway, so is it best to do a cross-over cable into my PC/laptop? or run a cable upstairs to the router? or to get the wireless thingy for £60

Can I play forza on the 360?

I have a memeory card which is saving the game but will a HDD be best?

Tim.

Bugger misspelt title, can't change it!!

1) Core package : Silver only I think ( not sure 'bout this )
2) Think you need the HD to go online.
3) Certaintly need the HD to play Forza. Thats a cert because it downloads a patch.
4) I'm using the Wireless bridge. It works great and is very neat. Just plugs into the USB port on the back of the 360. Does not need a power supply.

My son has answered this for you:

1. Yes you do get a 1 month free Gold membership to xbox live, which enables to play multi-player games online.

2. No you don't need a HDD to play online. (as long as you don't want to play original xbox games)

3.) Yes you can play Forza on the 360 aslong as it's on the compatability list. (I've just looked at the list on xbox.com and yes it is compatible to play on the 360, so therefore you can play Forza on the 360 for definate). And aslong as you've got an HDD-this is needed because it contains an emulator code to run orginal xbox games.

4.) Yes the HDD would be an ALOT better option, you can play original xbox games, put ALOT more memory on there (13GB is available when you buy the HDD-even though it's a 20GB HDD-this is because 7GB is set aside for save files and xbox live updates etc.)

Your memory card will let you play online and I think Forza will only work if you have a hard drive.

On another note, I can't believe you got it out the box and then let someone take it away from you !!!!

its terrible, I managed to convince mrs that I needed to 'test' it for a while!! If I still had it then work would suffer as i wouldn't be able to leave it!!
