Hi folks,
1st post from a long-time lurker on here.
Just wondering if its ok to join in the ph online races ?

I still have my gtl L-plates on, so are there any leagues running, or any scheduled nights I shouldn't join in ? - I wouldn't want to get in the way too much !

I think I know the pw, and the prefix thingy, but would appreciate a mail or a pm with this.
Anything else I need to know ?

I'm getting a bit frustrated with having all the paint rubbed of my car in the public servers. Its like someone posted earlier, that a lot of people use your car to help them around a corner that they haven't a hope of getting around otherwise.
Latest one, I qualified 3rd, got pushed off in 1st corner, got back up to 3rd again, got pushed off again, down to 14th, back up to 3rd/4th, pushed off again .. etc etc etc.
Very annoying when it keeps happening.
I'm sure fellow ph'ers are much more "sporting"

Thanks,
Declan

You don't seem to have the option to email you in your profile... check your settings?

Otherwise we've no particularly organized times when we race, it's more a case of setting up a chat room there so PHers can find each other, then racing wherever we all want to pretty much.

I'd be there but my crappy wireless isn't working very well .

Hi Declan

You are more than welcome to com eand join the PH massive racing If anyone is online they will create a private chatroom called 'PistonHeads' and the password will be PHLeague (case sensitive).

We like fair and clean racing so as long as you are of the same ilk you'll fit in fine. It doesnt matter if you arent the fastest either - just make sure you make room for anyone if you are being lapped

We are going to get a dedicated server soon so when that comes and you wish to stay racing with PH we may need a small donation to keep it running... But its a small price to pay for some quality racing

Hope to see you on the track soon

Steve

The more the merrier Declan - we haven't got a league running as such at the moment, but there are a few of us around most nights. Look in the lobby for a PistonHeads chatroom (password is the same one you've seen in other threads, and is case-sensitive).

Doesn't sound like you've got L-plates on if you're qualifying well on public servers - there's usually a hotshoe or two in most races I've been in. Sounds like what you need is racecraft . If you you spot one of these lunatics in time, brake early and let them pass, then watch them understeer off into the gravel as you drive serenly back to your rightful position!

Might catch you later...

OK, Great
I'm 90% sure I'll get on this evening sometime - prob after 8.

I'm pretty good at getting out of the way, from my GTR learning (still ongoing !)
- Is there a preferred method for this ... stay on normal line & let other car go around, or get off the racing line to let faster car stay fast ? I;m never sure which is best way.

I checked in my profile and the option to allow mails from others is checked.. I didn't see any other options there.

Cheers folks.
Look forward to some good clean racing

For overtaking i think its the same as real life - hit the corners full whack and as soon as you are on a decent stretch keep left or right and ease off a tiny amount so they can pass.... minimizes any lunch on the corners that way

I think you must have just missed us last night - there were at least half a dozen of us around a bit earlier than that.

I'm afraid I can't get enthusiastic about the short races or the short circuits, and I'm not that keen on the Mini or the Abarth tbh but anything bigger than that, on a full size circuit, for more than three fecking laps (!) and I'm there

I'm coming in now.

Don't worry about my bodywork, it's my trade to remove scratches from cars so bring it on
