....I can't get excited about GTLegends any more because whilst it is a laugh messing about on the server, there's no real objective to it, so no long term appeal.

I remember back when we were racing the ferrari 550's Saleens and the like in GTR at enna pergusa with 8 or 9 of us on the grid and it was great, qualy then an hour long race, get a right sweat on.

What's it going to take to resurrect the sunday night league? Are we going to be able to tempt FourWheelDrift back into action?

I want a league too. With the numbers we have I think we need a server, or two hosts and two classes.

As soon as we have a server then we can sort out a league. Until then we can only reliably run races with a max of 6 players so it's pretty pointless.

We 'could' start a league if we comandeer one of the 10 lap public servers.

It would need a bit of synchronisation. Ie we all meet in the lobby at 7:45.

At 8pm we all descend on the server of our choice and immediately vote to start the race as well as kicking out any numpties. It's a long race so grid position is unimportant.

For this to work you need to do your practice offline and get your setup ready.

I propose we try this at Spa on Sunday at 8pm in the GTC76 cars.

See you in the lobby at 7:45 Start at 8pm PROMPT, no waiting around for anyone

Yep, i'll be there.

Are we booting all non PH'ers or just people that drive like numpties?

My preference would be that we don't boot out non-PH'ers. These are public servers, after all. If someone purposefuly drives like an idiot, then that's fair to kick them out.

Fair enough.

The only trouble is you can't vote people out during a race.

So after maybe an hour of practicing online, getting your setup right, then 15 mins of qualification you finally start the 10 lap race. A non Pher takes you out at the first corner maybe even innocently. You now have to wait 30 mins until the race finishes before you can join in again. You've just wasted nearly 2 hours of your life.

It can be frustrating at least us PHers generally leave plenty of space at corners and if we notice someone has got up the inside, then we dont turn into eachother. Likewise we watch our mirrors whilst being lapped and generally even tell the leader which side to pass us on.

OK I've been sussing out the servers for tonghts race at Spa.

We will be using 10T #18 which has Spa and the 76 cars in it's repertoire (906,Pantera,Corvette,Capri,Escort,911RSR,BMW CSL,914-6). It's a 10 lapper and it is in Professional mode (so no cheating ABS or Traction )

Can entrants please start congregating in the PH chat room at 7:45 and we will enter the server at 8pm and vote it straight to race. Do any practice or setups you need to do today.

If the server is set to one of the other tracks I will go in and vote Next Event until it is at Spa, then I'll come out and wait in the lobby with the rest of you.

If we get there and a race is already in progress we shall swear profusely and then either wait or do something else

Anyone care to post a bench mark to gauge if i'm lapping well ?

I noticed today that you cant seem to create a PH room for some reason... if thats the case everyone meet in the english chat room.

I'll be there chaps, but I hazard a guess like a few others, I expect that there will be two levels playing in the league.

There'll be the lot that practise and practise and practise all week and post some wicked times and do very well;

Or (me) there'll be the ones who've only time to nip in for an hours prcatise and then the race itself.

I'm game for a league and whatnot, but I can't help but feel there will only be a few seriously playing for league position, and then the rest will be content with some close racing.

Indeed when you all get on the track together - quite often if a crash happens behind you and you are leading, most times I'll (or others) will slow down to let them catch up so a real race can ensue...

Thoughts anyone?

it will be a laugh regardless at the back as you can still compete against similar runners. I wouldn't worry about slowing down if someone gets taken out by a car, the chances are the leader will feck it up on a corner and allow you back into the race. That way a victory feels more satisfying over beating someone who slowed down to allow you back into the race

See you online - at the back of the grid

The chatroom works ok. I've created one now, but won't be back at my PC until 7:45

Neil, you're obviously talking about our friendly races We've generally always slowed down after crashes to keep it fun in the friendlies

It's a slightly different matter when the gloves are off in a championship

I don't get a great deal of time to practice for league races, so how about we get a PHer who doesn't race GTL to select the car & track an hour or so before the event to help balance things out ?

Fcking hell, I am soooooo so angry now...

We need to at least give every one a chance to test that their car at least works before wasting peoples time. That was an absolure waste of my time, and I can't be ed to piss around any more if for one simple mistake I'm sat like a tt.
