right,

neil and I sat outside for ages...

you guys need to wait a bit longer to vote straight through to the race... so that we don't start until everyone is there... and so that we give everyone a chance to get it. It's very frustrating to be stuck outside whilst there is a race on... it's happened to me quite a lot before because people vote it through to the race so fast.

Infact, this is the whole reason why I don't think we should do that at all - it means people miss out. 4 or 5 randoms is ok and generally they aren't wreckers.

Unlucky Rob I've been in that situation many times, any particular error? Tried Reinstalling GTL?

Post up in the Computer Forum and try and get it sorted! If I recognise any symptoms or have any ideas i'll let you know

Dave.

It was something to do with DirectX - I lost fps and got glitching since I intalled a patch for Battlefield 2 - fecking EA.

Uninstalled BF2 and just fired up Legends and all appears OK.

Well, after the aborted first start, 'most' of us managed to get a race in second time round. I think there were 9 of us made it to the finish, so it's a partial success until we get our own server.

I know my instructions were pretty unflexible, but I was just trying to get a decent race together with plenty of us and no idiots and that did work I thought I made the instructions pretty clear, that I would change the server to Spa then you were all to wait for me to come out, then we go in en-masses and start. That way no-one would get left behind. When I came out of the server you were already all in there - eager bunnies

Neil, I totally understand your frustration with the wheel (mine used to do it mid race in GPL ) so feel free to pop out in qualy just to test it for 10 secs or so. But, to be fair, I did say that everyone should be getting setup and tested before even joining the chat lobby.

I wonder if Tentacle wrote all these bugs in on purpose just to simulate the unpredictability of real racing

Roll on our own server and all these problems will vanish (he says )

See you online later

Diver - just wanted to point out that my post wasn't a critiscim of your efforts at all - I think from your post you didn't read it as such buit I wanted to be sure. Sorry if it looked a bit angry and grr, wasn't meant like that.

No worries Mike, I knew what you meant, we're all mates here (apart from PVA of course )

Anyway, if you were grumpy, I'd have let your tyres down in the next race

Anyone fancy another 10, 15 or 20 lapper tonight?

Donington National?

I quite fancy an endrance race where a bit of strategy might come in to it.

Me too. I'll be about from around 7:30

GT76 cars anyone?

I find endurance races (30 mins or more) great fun on a smallish track. It's not all about driving flat out to win the race. Things like saving the tyres and fuel come in to it. You also tend to get lapped by Ian, so keep an eye on your mirrors

Not just GTL - between him and FWD none of us stood a chance on GTR either.
