I have just gone a got myself an Xbox (old one). I have had a PS2 for years, but always had a wish to play some of the Xbox only games. I Got Halo 2 with it and will soon get Forza, PGR2 and Rallysport challenge 2.

I played an Xbox 360 a couple of weeks ago. The graphics were very impressive but the game play didn't seem that much of a step up from Xbox PS2. So I’m not that bothered about getting one.

Anyone else feel the same? Any suggestions for Xbox games I shouldn’t be without?

Thanks
Jimmy

Ps. i cant play my Xbox till Feb 11th. As its a birthday present. Bugger

But it's common knowledge that software developers need time to make full use of the hardware they are given. The games your talking about weren't released 4+years ago when the xbox came out. Look at early ps2 games. They could have been on a PS1.

IMO, the PS2 is only good for a door stop over either the Xbox or 360

Blocky graphics, slow loading times and on and on......

None of the release titles were that special if you ask me, with the exception of PGR3 which is a laugh.

That said, the xbox360 hasn't been turned on for nearly 2 weeks now!

I hate the xbox 360. Launched prematurely, no good games, makes my old xbox worthless, can't do anything the psp can't do for less, blah, blah, blah

I played PGR3 and condemned on the 360 last night 'round a mates house and, I must say, I was disappointed. Just way prefer the PC for some reason.

True, launch titles for almost any system are generally a bit naff.

Th2 PS2 and Xbox both being classic examples, must say got a PS2 on the day it launched and of all the title at the time it was Smugglers Run that impressed me most. That was a big step up from the PS1, certainly the size of play area could never have been done on the PS1 and the game itself was a good laugh.

Tekken Tag however was rubbish, and as for the PS2's first 'sim' racer - Driving Emotion Type S - what a pile of bo**ocks.

Mines cos in the odd moments I'm not either doing my daily grind at work, or my new extra grind at home, I'd rather play GTL on the PC.

If you'd have got an Xbox 360 you could have played all those games and lots of nice new ones.

There's definitely a lot of hype about them but they are good, I love the wireless controllers, the graphics are great and I'm buying a 43" HD plasma soon so they will be even better

Hey I did just this, after 3 or 4 years as a PS2 guy I bought myself an Xbox just before xmas to have a crack at Forza mainly. I also bought PGR2 and Colin McRae 04. I'd recommend the CMR but not PGR2, PGR2 is a bit too arcadey for my liking. Forza is a must-have. I find it much more 'fun' than GT4, even though I have the DFP for GT4.

Since I bought the Xbox on Dec 21 the PS2 hasnt been plugged in, just been playing CMR and Forza since then.

If you have a good TV as well then xbox will do 720P and 1080I screen resolutions. It does a much better job than PS2's GT4 in 1080I as well.

You will like PGR3, it has some of the realism on the driving front blended in from Forza but still retains the 'arcady' feel of PGR2. Put it this way, sideways is no longer the quick way IMO.

PGR2's saving grace was it's Xbox Live side for me
