Sunday night at Anderstorp - what's your best so far?
Discussion
I was quite shocked at how early I had to brake in the Pantera compared to say the 906. First time down the back straight into the tight right hander will be interesting on lap 1. Perhaps we should make braking lanes for lap 1 to avoid running into the back of others - for those that brake at the 100m marks like the Porsche 906's and Capri's and those that need to brake earlier, like the Pantera's at the 300m board
I'm waiting on a definative ruling on pitstops for the 2 classes before deciding whether to run a 76 car or a 65.

I like Dobbos idea of one pitatop for 76s and none for 65s.
Think I might run 65s, the GT40 is like a mini Pantera and the Daytona and Ferrari will be alot of fun on the tighter tracks, were you going for the 65s Dobbo? anyone else considering apart from FWD? think we'd need at least four of us.......
Just done a 1.46 in the GT40 so not that far off pace compared to teh 76s

I'm deffo going to go '65s, simply because there is no way i can get close to the '76 times others are posting here.
Back in the GTR days I used to practice the tracks but I'm already over-commiting my personal time with a new business venture which pays me money, hence i'm hardly online GTL (which doesn't pay me money) these days.
Played for about 15 minutes yesterday with the GT40, it is hoot to slide around and I reckon with pitstops for the 76ers but none for the 65ers on a 30 minute race the Gt40 driven well will snap at the heels of the '76 cars.
I'd probably switch around the 65 class for other tracks though.

I managed a 42 in the 911 with my first session last night. It will be that or the GT40 for me.
I managed a 1min 45 in the GT40... if we do a 15 lap race and we assume the 911s can do consistent 1min42s and the GT40 constistent 1min 45s... then the GT40 gives away 3 seconds a lap... which is 30 seconds over the whole race or about the length of a pitstop...
should be interesting....
Of course the GT40 is quite hard to pass as although its pretty slow in the corners it romps down the straights.

i just got 1:43 in the 911 on my first test run of the week on the track... To be honest the Pantera just pisses off from me on this track with its sheer grunt. Ian can keep up well in one but i'm not that good...
I'll stick with the 911 for the championship - i know everyone says its easy to drive but i dont think it is that easy when you are on the ragged edge trying to put in some fast times - you got to know how the car will behave which kind of goes against your instincts at first
Magny cours GP is my fave track so i expect to do well there hopefully (probably be the only time i do well )

You will likely have picked up what our password is - if not contact Neil is your best bet. And get Teamspeak downloaded|ftp://ftp.freenet.de/pub/4players/teamspeak.org/releases/ts2_client_rc2_2032.exe for voice chat in-game if you want it.
Hope to see you there in time for our first race

I've been trying the Pantera tonight, at first I was struggling to get into the 1:43's, downloaded someone elses setup and just got down to 1:39.7xx. I think I may squeeze another half second, but that'll be my limit.
The Porsche 911 on the other hand, I'm lucky to get below 1:42 and it needs grabbing by the horns to drop to my best of 1:41.0
I'm still undecided on which to use, if any of the above.
Thanks
Aggggghhhhhh!!!!

I'm not saying this will happen to everyone but dave's cheat he kindly provided caused my GTL to crash every time i tried to join a server. In the end i had to restore my old profile in order to get racing again. Luckily i had done the usual cheat of altering the ini file and starting every race and then quitting so i have all 95 cars.
Just to let you know should you have any trouble

pantera anders -=4ph3x=- is the one I tried, I think I moved the brake bias back a touch on it.
I don't think we should be stuck with a bad car choice. If you change car, it's fine by me, if you change class, you are reducing your point score, and compromising your championship chances.
If we insist on people sticking with a car, we limit the attraction to staying in the league. For instance I've had no time to practice, so if I get stuck with a crap car I'm not allowed to change, i'l simply bow out of the league as it wont be any fun!
