Ordered a ceramic white psp on ebay last tuesday, sent a cheque because I'm not a verified paypal user, item still hasn't arrived even though he's marked it as 1pm special delivery.

The Item:http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-CERAMIC-WHITE-SONY-PSP-VAL

It hasn't arrived today, emailed the seller (sold 750 items, 100%
feedback rating, if it doesn't arrive tommorow, i'm leaving negative feedback. See how he likes 99.9% instead of 100%!!

How on earth he got that is a mystery to me.

Crikey, give the bloke a chance. Cheque takes two days to get to him, he banks i the next day, takes 5 days to clear, goes to the post office the next day, takes a day to get to you. That's Friday delivery in my book.

Edit: even with a one day post to get the cheque to him and a 3 working day clearence you're cutting it a bit fine.

Well, you have a point. But i've sold things on the internet before and I made it my utmost priority. The cheque DID reach him the next day.

When i pay by cheque i always allow a week for them to get their act together.

You're taking a risk buying an expensive item via check - you are only coeverd up to £105 and it takes an age to get it back. I'm still waiting 2 months on after being shafted on a video card. C*nts !!!

Dont want to worry you but most of his feed back is for £0.01 items. I would contact ebay, as the feedback does not exactly look terribly legitimate. 100's of items all sold early for 1 us cent or £0.01.

I agree, pretty much all of his 100% feedback is from bulk listings this year and the items range from "Porsche Wallpaper" to "Gmail invites" ??? All for 1p each. That is the sort of ebayer I never buy from as the feedback is not what I would call "real" (even if he did sell all those things, they are mearly emailable items so true seller performance isnt hard).
I also notice that most of his "buyers" are no longer registered users of ebay (there is even some huge rating powerseller's) after buying his 1p items. Strange that.

Good luck....

the seller has been an ebay member since 2001, so that bodes well. he also states in his payment requirements - Cheque (subject to 3-5 days clearance before console is despatched)
wait a while before you jump off the deep end.

Had a look at his excellent feedback, most of the users very dodgy and had multiple usernames for like 1 day. Look at this line of feedback:

hmmm, looking now at the ebayer, he does indeed look very suspect. has the cheque been cashed? if not, then i would cancel it. if it has, you have to just hope you haven't been scammed.

to be honest, putting in that effort to scam someone out of £200 is really not worth it.

have you tried emailing him? if no response, email ebay and see what happens, but don't hold out much hope

Oh yeah, had a response, perfectly legit, says it will be here on monday. There was a small lie/mistake, but nothing to get too upset about.

checked out trevsthings, masses of ratings by stud, at 11.20, 2 minutes before.
Basically, the guy is doing some major mass shilling, if not i'll eat my hat.

When I bought my psp from eBay, the seller only had a low feedback score. I took every precaution I could think of before I handed over my cheque..

I asked for his address, then checked it out to confirm it. His address didn't match with the electrol records, so I asked for his telephone number, then phoned him. After speaking with him, turned out to be a pleasant lad, selling his stuff to start a business and had just moved into the address, the previous owners name matched the electrol records and I checked out his business which turned out to be ok.

This might sound like I'm being paranoid, but it only takes 5 minutes max to do and I was positive I'd see a PSP at the end of it, not facing a loss of £200.

I don't like handing money over to fraudsters.

if i was in your position then i would cancel the cheque and risk the negative feedback, that way you can justify it through your reply, and then go to here and pay £20 less for exactly the same thing, the shipping is free.

Harumph!!

He said in his last email, it would arrive thursday, but he sent an email today saying he had sent it and it would arrive on friday. How much longer can he keep up this appeasement?

The question is - how much are you willing to put up with ?
