, SHIT AND WANK!

I am hating this game at the moment.

I have played a fair bit on line this week and it's been fine. For the 2nd Sunday out of 3, the other players pings have gone sky high, and it disconnects me just before the race, leaving me no time to restart and enter.

At this rate I'm going to give the shit up.

Bunch of arse..................

Well my pings seemed fine, but I drove through another 911 stuck on the grid which mangled my car and put me even further back. Then starting the second lap following another car over the start finish line crashed through the same 911 still stuck on the grid totally screwing up my suspension

Not my best result (8th) but a great race all the same!
What was the issue with the 76 cars pitting? I was under the impression that we could fuel up at the start and the pit on first lap taking on no fuel or tyres. I don't see anyone getting a massive advantage doing this as you're heavy for most of the race and have shagged tyres by the end too!

A pitstop is a stop at the pits for tyres, fuel or both. Anything else is a stop & go. It's only at Dijon that I have only been changing tyres and yes there is a distinct advantage to not changing anything, firstly you don't lose 30seconds and you can still lap at the end of the race at a similar pace as you could during the rest, check the laptimes below. There's certainly no massive drop off.

I considered the point of the pitstop to make the 76's and 65's final finishing places closer and make it a 2 class race to finish, if we're just going into the pits and driving out it seems pretty pointless to ask the 76's to pit stop at all as the 65's will never have a chance.

Hmmm, well maybe we should make the rule more clear for next time. I don't mind what happens as long as it's an enjoyable race for everyone

I got spun at the first corner first lap - ended up last. Battled back to 7th and pitted - stupid game switched off my pit limiter so I got a stop and go. Then crashed and had to go back to pits and hit escape by accident. That was the end of my race!

Great game but so many silly little common sense thinfgs that ruin it - why switch off the limiter and why not give and "Are you sure" for the escape key!

I got a good start but had a few incidents with diver (sorry diver!) in the first few laps. AFter that it settled down and I was running by myself in 8th place I think. During this period I wasn't really with it and span 3 times. Then I got it together and put in some solid(ish) laps. Diver and Andy came out of the pits behind me and were having a big tussle, but slowly catching me. It was great fun watching them racing in my mirrors. Then diver got right into my tail for a lap or so, I pulled out a lead again and he and andy had another battle. I think andy then made a small mistake and diver pulled away and caught me up. The last 2 laps diver was right on my tail and I only just kept him behind me (another lap and he'd have had me I think). I finished 6th (just).

It was great fun - really nerve wracking with andy and diver closing on me at the end. It was hard to race diver too, I was faster around the hairpins and the first section of track, but from the old hairpin to the chicane diver was much quicker. (i was in the GT40 and he had a 906).

edit: as for pitstops... I'm not sure. I think we should avoid a big argument and try to clarify what we mean by "Pit stop" so that everyone is clear what is required.

Sorry if I messed anyone up at the start. On the grid I suddenly found myself running at around 2FPS and had no choice but to quit. It happened earlier in the day; just pressing esc and rejoining would be the way to do it but the lights had just turned to green...

Fantastic race

I had a brilliant start and rocketed from 8th to 3rd right behind FWD for a few corners until he warmed up and started to pull away. Approaching the chicane for the first time I could see Neil right beside me. Rather than risk an off I left plenty of space to the right so he could come past, but another couple nipped through too Coming down to the hairpin I was tapped from behind as I turned in and half span but lost a few more places and then at the first corner on the 2nd lap I was tapped and half span again so was back down to 8th

Had a very steady and lonely middle part of the race. Pitted on lap 9 for fuel (but no tyres) and came out just behind Andy and D_Mike. The last part of the race was superb with all of us having a good clean tussle, no taps, no silly overtaking, but all of us taking advantage of each others mistakes. I was sure that Andy still needed to pit so I just played a waiting game, until he did - wrong! I just could not get past D_Mike in the end, that GT40 is rubbish in the corners but just too fast down the straight. I couldn't understand how he was better at both hairpins though????

Conclusion - my 906 needs a Turbo

I found I was faster than pretty much every car I came across in the hairpins diver. I seemed to brake a lot earlier and turn in at a lot slower speed than most but it paid off in terms of quite a good apex speed. Being fast in the hairpins is all about making it to the apex - even a foot or so away and you lose loads of time. It pays a bit to just back off and take them a bit more gently I think.

You're right - the GT40 is totally shit in the (fast) corners. It has understeer all the way through the turn until the exit where you get nasty snappish oversteer. It's quite fast though

That was a surprisingly good result for me overall, The Capri just doesn't seem to have a decent pace against the Panteras. I was feeling decidedly unwell and wasn't sure I'd even make the race.
The start was again a let down, 2nd to 7th is one straight ! Probably too much fuel. I kept plodding along and passed a few cars in first few laps, thanks to the Porsche (I forget who) that let me through a bit easily.
I was then running in 4th behind Neil. PV fell off ahead and I was up to 3rd. Neil then pitted and I was after FWD, I hadn't lost much time and was then only about 4 seconds behind.
When he pitted I started to push and set my fastest laps of the race. I then pitted on lap 12, so did PV whose Pantera seemed to give me a bit of a push out
I came out in the lead but my car was exceptionally loose at the back, not sure if it was tyres / damage or a combination of both. I was losing over 2 seconds a lap to my earlier pace, but held the lead till the end of the race.
