I'm considering buying a high-end games PC (~£2k) to play GTR/2, GTL. But just realized these games are fairly high resolution - unlike GT4 and RBR on the PS2 which I play on a 28" CathodeTV. I can't really imagine playing on small computer monitor after using 28". But a big monitor would be too expensive. So how about a TV (LCD or plasma) - would that do? And if so, what kind of compromise in detail would that entail bearing in mind I'm also considering the new 8800GTX graphics card because I want the best graphics I can afford. What do you use?

I just use a 19" monitor, but then I sit alot closer than when playing with the PS2 on the telly. Also I only have a fairly low spec graphics card - a single 6800GT. IIRC Some do play with TVs, and projectors though,

A mate of mine got hold of a massive projector (about 2 feet long & heavy) from ebay for a couple of hundred quid - its designed for projecting on to a large screen for presentations in big halls. We plugged it into my PC & ran it at 1280x1024 projecting on to a big sheet (about the size of a garage door, maybe a bit bigger). GT Legends looked AMAZING!!! On the screen the car you drive was life size! Flying around on BF2 was pretty decent as well.
I'd say thats the way to go - you can fold up the screen & put your projector away when you're not using it. Otherwise just a decent 19"+ screen is good enough if you're sat at a desk.

Thanks.

Just realized my CRT TV is 21" not 28"! rolleyes
So Yes, I've decided a 20-21" LCD monitor should be adequate (even though a projector would be nice!).
