Two pretty good races for me. Race 1, narrowly piped to pole by FWD with a superb lap. Got better traction off the line and managed to get into first for T1, a bit over cautious on the cold tyres let FWD catch up a little and take first under braking after the long straight. I then got off line coming up the hill and got very sideways entering the start finish straight, letting Holst and Booster pass. Tried to close the gap back up, despite some very quick laps could not make much of an impression and settled for fourth.

Race 2.3, Erm.... the start was a blur.... ended up in 2nd, pushed hard all race and despite putting in some very respectable times could not catch FWD.

I must say, this race I finally got the set-up right on this car.... back to default ! I could ride the curbs and feel the car move around rather than being in a bit of a lively car, just needed to move the brakes forward a touch as there was a tendency to lock loose the rear under heavy braking.

Missing 10 races didn't help the championship push.

My 2p worth - I don't like them either. Far too twitchy, hard to keep it in a straight line at speed. Caterhams are far better.

Do we want to skip this weekends Legend race and move onto the IEC F430's ?

ok F430's around Misano this weekend. Same 2 race format as the NAGT league.

I've had a quick go and the F430's seem easy to pick-up, if a little tail happy under braking.

I'll be online doing a bit of practice this evening if anyone else fancies it ?

Server running now

First race, got a decent start and got up into second, chasing Holst hard I was just about on his bumper when I lost the backend accelerating out of the off camber right turn frown Booster and Yogi passed me putting me back to fourth.

Think Yogi spun off on the next lap, then Booster ran wide into T2 allowing me to get alongside down the long straight. Side by side coming out of the hairpin I lit the rears up again and spun off.....

Andy passed and it too two laps to catch him and eventually passed him on the penultimate corner.

Race 2..... ahem.... Crashed on 1st corner, then crashed again, then baby was crying so decided to call it a night. Good racing though this evening.

Following the suggestion of running the GTL mod for rFactor (but the issue of not having the original disc) how about this one for the league

http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=CSGT%2...

"This mod includes our Prototype 2000, Grand Touring 2000, and Grand
Touring 5000 Class cars. In the Prototype 2000 class are four Porsche 910, two Porsche 906, and seven Chevron B16s. In the Grand Touring 2000 class are fourteen Porsche 911 and five Porsche 914. Finally in the Grand Touring 5000 class are four Chevrolet Corvette L-88s, one Ferrari 365 GTB4 and two Ford Mustangs all from the 1970 World Sportscar Championship. Eight car models and a total of 39 separate cars."

I had a go with the Chevron B16 last night, it all seems pretty good, GTL style handling and not massive speeds.

Will the server have the Blurry Texture Fixes or do we know that it will not matter (miss-matches)?
Yes - Texture file added - not sure if this will create a miss-match ?

8PM Start tonight chaps

Andy and I are around the low 1'37's but with a bit more effort and brave pills a 1'36 should be in reach.

What a brilliant evening of racing !! For me a definite for the 2009 season smile

Race 1 - Had a decent start and passed PV off the line before seeing him end up in the kitty litter, pressed on and quickly got onto the tail of FWD, was quicker for the first lap but could not make a pass, then he started to pull away and we reset.

Race 1.1 - Got a blinding start (actually thought I had gone before the green light), passed PV and knew I had to take my opportunity to pass FWD as he was bringing his tyres up to temp. Managed to get into the tow coming out of Coppice and out broke him into the Esses. What ensued were four laps of pure adrenalin !! We both passed each a numerous times, side by side down Craner Curves a couple of time it was absolutely fantastic. I remember getting a bit out of shape coming out of Redgate which opened the door for FWD coming down the Curves and it was very tight going into the Old Hairpin. After that I saw some dust thrown up at McLean's and took it that FWD had had a problem - apologies if I caused it frown

FWD if you can post a video – that would be great wink

Then had a few second lead on Adam and managed to bring it home with about 1/2 second to spare - best race I have ever had.

Race 2 - Got a decent start and was working my way through the pack, managed to get up to 7th but missed my braking point coming into the Esses and locked up before smacking into Booster - sorry chaps !

Rejoined in last (maybe Andy was on the grass a little bit further on) and tried to catch everyone up. Over took a couple of people before the rest of you threw yourselves off the road wink Was a couple of seconds behind Andy but started to push too hard and make mistakes, so settled for 3rd place.

Could not stay for the third race, my play pass had run out of credits from the missus wink

Anyhow, you lot have a good Christmas, CSGT's around Daytona on the 28th if your in need of your rFactor fix.

I'll create a new 2009 thread next week where we can vote and agree on what series we are going to start with next year.
