Has anybody tried goodwood yet?

I just did a ten lap race and my fatest lap was 1.11.6 and I managed 1.13's without crashing too often.

I wonder how many seconds faster FWD is?

I think i can probably go much faster but the chances of crashing go up ten fold if I push any harder. Im not very good at these very fast tracks I cant seem to keep the car stable on the brakes when im going fast. I might need to play with the setup some more.

Im still waiting for MJ to reply to my email, I hope I am welcome on sunday biggrin

EDIT - I tried to find the RACE series on the Rfactor website but couldnt find the link, can anybody help me?

Email sent same day - will resend now.

See page 1 of this topic - it's got the link to the RACE series download.

Well, I thought that having just watched the MotoGP Race it would inspire me to tame the beast that is the lambo.... and it worked to a certain extent. In Quali I managed to get 4th, but I think I could have challenged for Pole had I strung a clean lap together.

Off the line and up to 2nd, managed to stick with Adam ? for a couple of laps then went in too hot to T1 and ran wide, rejoining in 4th but then eventually down in 8th as everyone else carried more speed out of T1.

Managed to catch up then started to loose it coming in to the chicane and continued to do this for the next few laps.

A few more spins late on and I had enough and called it a day. Glad that this phase of the championship is over - it's no fun being at the back of the pack all the time....

A terrible race for me, I wasn't going to race but as there was alot racing I downloaded the track at 20:50 and thought I'd give it ago.

Qualified about 8th and got an ok start, got a slight tap on the first lap and was sucked off to the grass putting me in last place.

Never really got back in it, but had a couple of good fights with others who kept falling off aswell smile

Sorry about hitting you MJ, it was as you came back onto the track and I tried to avoid you but you moved one way then the other and I just smashed into your back.
No worries, I though I kept it pointing in the same direction so that you could choose a side to pass on.

I downlaoded V2.0 but that comes with several track versions.

I dont know the ring at all, and its a big track to learn. I would like to do a ring trip with the lude in the summer but I dont think I can afford it.. so im a bit lacking in motivation to learn the track.

Im going to be using the Orange Jagermeister car biggrin

Is the track on the server?
Anybody fancy joining me for a few laps if it is?
I could do with some help setting the car up as well if anybody has any tips?
The track is the V2 version as per the linky and the specific course we are racing is the full 24hr one.

If you extract the folder, there is a handy corner by corner guide to help you learn the circuit.

Ah well, excuses over - now to start practising in RaceX...!
You giving next weeks trip to the 'ring a miss? Next week is the ring in the E21 BMW's, which should be... interesting wink
I'd love to be in that race - have played the ring many times there in rFactor and other games (also went there in real life last year for my 30th...heaven! smile

But next weekend I'm away with the missus, so unfortunately will miss it frown

So its straight on to RaceX - for which, btw, will the car type be WTCC 2007 or any other kind? (if WTCC 2007 any restrictions?)

cheers

Shane
I Suggest using the WTCC 2007 car class but open to suggestions ? Restrictions - Touring cars only.

In the past we have done a superpole qualifiation system. Staged starts - ie 30 / 60 second intevals then one chance at a flying lap. This way we can keep to the existing start time of 8.30 and race at 9pm ?

We all need to be online for 8.45 latest and all ready to go. Starting order will be the current league standings - ie Mr Yogi off first.

Have to say that was a fantastic race - best I have had on rFactor. Brings back the memories of the old GTL League and wrestling the car around the track - demanding but very rewarding.

Got off to a flyer and passed two people off the line, then coming in to T1 along side FWD, managed to nail my braking point and FWD ran a little wide, side by side coming out T1 and I had the line to get the power down quicker and pass FWD. Then on the more unfamiliar main circuit was clearly not quick enough to stay ahead of the chasing pack and people started to bunch up. Coming into the downhill series of chicanes, I have to put my hands up and was backing off slightly and this caused FWD to get unsettled under braking and spin off paperbag sorry !

The had a good clean tussle with Yogi, side by side around a few corners without touching - very good driving there Yogi wink

Then Holst and Yogi both fell off and I was up to second. On lap 2, still keeping within touching distance of Yogi, we both spun coming in to the sharp right after the high speed section. Yogi managed to bounce off the barriers, I managed to spin it and then rejoined the track in front of Holst and FWD - sorry chaps.

My race pretty much settled down then into a half decent rhythm, only for Andy to chase me down. Power sliding it out of the final turn onto the back straight Adam overtook me, only for me to get into his slipstream and very side by side at 150 coming through the complex into the final chicane. Both left it too late on the brakes, both hit the barrier, both got away with it only for me to loose it under acceleration. Adam then did the same a few turns later.

Then somehow I got a stop/go when I ran wide, so *issed off for the rest of the lap pulled into the pits (along with everyone else) 10 seconds later, foot down knowing that my stop/go was offset by the other needless pitstop (knowing Cliff had stopped it would be a 4 lap race).

and home to a rewarding 5th place, best I could have hoped for, the rest of you were way too fast smile

I've changed the format of the results / calendar. The original file started to corrupt once the special stage was added, also I could not figure out a way to show the results as two separate series.

Below is the link to new results format (note posh new graphics - it's amazing what copy / paste and windows paint can achieve)

As long as it is a touring car, your ok - ie no radical etc

Think we will have to stick a few sandbags in yours though given your speed so far this season wink

So does that mean we have to select RaceX V1.1 (not RaceX 2007 etc) as the series?
This is more of a server question, as long as you have V1.1 installed on your machine you'll be ok. The server should have all of the Race files and add-on's installed.

Need help!

I don't have much time this week to get the server set up. I can't easily determine all the files required for RaceX - the various threads I've read seem to have many different patches.

Can someone post a list of all the required (and working) download URLs required in a single place?

This should also help ensure no mismatches between participants this Sunday.

Thanks,
Adam
See what you mean - it's been some time since I downloaded all the files. I have managed to find what I think is the latest one :-

RaceX_V1.2_Full.7z
http://files.filefront.com/RaceX+V12+Full7z/;92828...

It's a 669mb file. The Readme seems to track all the previous releases. The only file that is missing that I am aware of is the Radical's which can be added for the following link.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=P27T85TS

Follow the readme file for installation - Link has been added to the calender.
