Still on COD4 Scorp, where on earth have you been hiding? I think your on a good 40 days no show.

Good news is I'm moving out my flat tonight so will be on-line regulary from now on. My new crib should be finished mid-april again will be on-line there when sorted out a interwebnet provider. Just in time for this game and some time off to enjoy my new flat that I've worked 12 years for.
It's been a while, im still very busy in real life unfortunately.

Same as of late or since I took 2 weeks off to quit smoking.

I played the first, and didnt play any of the others except san andreas, which was pretty one of the only games I played to death in the last 5 years.

Paul, from what little I understand, each episode takes a different character, plonks them into an era of time, within a certain recognizable location, and creates a new story around that character... (I stand to be corrected!) so to answer your question, I dont think you need to have played any of them at all to appreciate or enjoy the game itself.

I wonder if this one will end up banned in Australia, wasnt it SanAn which suffered that fate?

GTA1 and 2 were seperate entities where no characters transferred over.

GTA1 was set over 3 cities, Liberty City, San Andreas and Vice City.

GTA3 moved things into the 3D plane and was based in a new version of Liberty City, this was set in the early 2000's which was the time it was released.

GTA: Vice City was the sequel to GTA3 and was set back in the 80's, it introduced a few of the characters that featured in GTA3 and fleshed out their backgrounds a little.

GTA: San Andreas was the 3rd and final game in the GTA3 trilogy (discounting the PSP Story games) and was set in the early 90's, again it featured characters from both GTA3 and GTA: Vice City, giving a bit more background info for all of them and fleshing out the universe a bit more.

GTA:IV starts things afresh, forget all the characters that have come before as they won't be featured, the slate has been wiped clean and all bets are off (Apart from a Radio DJ called Lazlow who works for Rockstar who will feature). Judging by previous experience I would think that the next game will take place in either Vice City or San Andreas and feature some of the same characters as GTA:IV, but I'd have no idea what time period might feature.

Here endeth your history lesson on the GTA Series, I expect your homework in by next Friday and there will be a test.

True enough, but it was really just an expansion pack and I don't think Rockstar made it, but farmed it out to someone else to do.

You could get it from HMV if the points are what does it for you, same price but you get 1000 points.

I've got mine on order from shopto as they usually send things out as soon as the delivery comes in, so hoping for a Monday 28th delivery, or possibly even Saturday the 26th.
