practice times? eek

Ok... I really ought to get familiarised with the E36.
Not trying to take it too seriously but I was worried you guys would all be very quick so I thought I ought to get some practice in. I should add I'm running without ABS too, so pretty much as I shall run on sunday.

Simon
Brave man, I've never managed to get on well without abs (both in the virtual and real world!) - I really must have a quick go later and see how I fare... I think I'll be with abs - either way, I will try and get a time for comparisons sake. smile

Hmm, tried a quick lap in the M3... very interesting. It is pretty difficult to keep neat out of corners and often finds itself between gears on a number of the slower corners (I use manual) - should be good fun.

Anyone got any more pics of various stickering set ups? I am just finishing mine. thumbup

Mat, I am just waiting for confirmation from Tim2100... if he cannot make it, then I should think it would be fine for you to have the eigth slot considering you're unable to race in the other league.

Cant speak for the others just yet, but I consider myself to be just about able to avoid getting lapped... hehe

What have your practice times been so far ? I managed a 2:15:0 but there was still a lot of time to be had on that lap I'm certain.
There is a little bit of time to be had off that. wink did a couple of laps yesterday, tricky car to get a laptime out of - will be very very interesting having 8 of them battling it out. bounce

smile lets not get carried away with this practice lark*.

  • mainly as I spend far too much time at the moment building up my career mode so I can afford to buy and tweak cars! Have'nt had the game long, slowly getting back into the swing of things.
Matt, if Tim2100 doesnt post on here by tomorrow, the last slot is yours - I will confirm it on the OP tomorrow night, so you'll know whether you're in or not. smile

Righty; slight tangent ish.... does anyone have any cars with PH logos vinyled on?? If at all possible, can someone gift me one so I can copy the logos? Will gift the car back as soon as I have done this and it would be most appreciated. smile I think it'd be great if we can have the logos on all cars as this is a PH championship afterall.

Not long now people! bounce

ooo also forgot to say, I doubt very much so whether fast laps will mean anything, I reckon with 7 other cars with exactly the same spec all piling into the corners - we should probably end up doing 2:20's!! hehe

Tim, please let us know if you can join at any point, no doubt we'll have the odd possible no-show for various reasons, so you may still be able to join? Keep an eye on the thread and I will gladly put you next in line for a slot. thumbup Feel free to add me on xbox live and I'll make sure to get you in if anyone drops out. smile

Matt, looks like you have the last slot if you are ok for the day/time and can confirm it. smile

As shown in the OP (now twice, just put it clearly at the bottom) - it is 8pm every sunday... until topgear returns - then we'll have a re-think, the logic is that most of your loved ones will be sympathetic to you having the tv booked at the same time you used to for TG... wink

All those interested in joining but slotless, can you please be online at the time and make sure you have my live ID: B3NCA. I am not sure a few people are going to turn up, and it looks like I've missed out people like Lukebird from the slots - nothing is final just yet, so get yourselves online around 8 and I will be adding in if there is space.

In order of preference for open slots;
Lukebird
Tim2100
then the other champ lot

I will need you to be online on xbox as I will not have a computer handy - if there are slots, you're in when I invite you in. Can other players please not invite others in, I'll boot them out, its only fair we allow those who expressed an interest initially in first. Sorry guys, but thats the way it is - I hope this is fair, if not - as I've said all along, its a championship on behalf of all entrants, so speak up if you feel anything isnt quite right and we'll do our best to get it sorted. thumbup

I'm not going to make it tonight. At the moment I've too many things that keep cropping up to get involved in a set time/day championship so I'll just send out some friend requests based on the ganer tags I see posted and join in for ad hoc racing as and when.

Cheers,
Matt
Fair enough Matt, thanks for letting us know. I'll put you as a priority maybe and hand your slot to LukeBird, hope you can still join us later in the season. thumbup

I'll add the two points together for the end first round result... Top race guys, bloody terrifying at times and absolutely hilarious at others. thumbup Cheers too for StumpyAlan for joining us in a practice before hand, scarily quick! I reckon with a bit of practice we'll all pick up the pace a bit and continue on the great racing. Next week; Laguna Seca. eek

Thanks again to all who compete, was an absolute pleasure - hope everyone enjoyed it too. sorry I had to leave, family needed the TV at 9 for some crappy show. frown

OP updated. Bloody close champ standings thus far, next race; LAGUNA SECA, which will see me back at the back of the grid. frownhehe

Mrobertshaw, no worries - sorry I was moaning so much! wink I made up for it in race 2 thankfully. thumbup You're results dont display the improvement you made in the second race, was like night and day in comparison, nice one.

Haha! Awesome shots, liking the commentary - OMG LAG!!! Superb shots, glad to see someone else saved the replays - was interesting watching various peoples lines!

The below picture sums up my first race. frown Have watched the replay several times over and I should have just stayed on the grass and slowed down before trying to re-join, it was the second nudge that had me in the wall, I thought I was heading there after the first, but it looked holdable in the replay. Lesson learnt for next time... thumbup

Digby - I think this is my favourite shot;

This is what I had in mind at the start of the championship thread; pretty much the 92 BMW 318IS touring cars all mixing it together when touring cars were truly great!

Sirtainly, I saw the same as Digby, numerous odd movements, then teleports and locking of brakes/wheelspin in odd places. Didnt see anyone else have any issues. Try the new set up, hope it improves things for you. thumbup

For the next round, I've noticed that the other champ do 5 x 5lap races - what do you lot reckon, leave it at two races for the series then a mess around after or do you want to up the number of races that count? It may be best to stick to the current format for consistancys sakes, but im all ears. smile
