I've done a lot of laps of Knockhill, but none in this car. I can do 53 seconds in the Porsche Carrera cup cars. The real Formula BMW lap record is 51.124. I'll have a go myself soon.

Edit: So far I've managed a low 55 second lap myself. I can't ride the kerbs with the FBMW as much as I can with the cars I've raced there before which loses me lots of time. I think I might be able to go a bit faster though. Maybe with setup changes as so far I'm running standard.

I was struggling to start with until I noticed I'd knocked the steering help on! That aid is seriously mis-named as it makes things a lot harder, I was 2 seconds a lap slower with it on!

Just tried the track and cars out did about 20 laps, got down to a 52sec flat with no change to the setup except reducing the wing front/rear by 1 and I think that was only psychological and makes no difference at all biggrin

Replay file 52s lap - http://www.mercia.biz/rfactor/fbmw/Knockhill-FBMW-...

The only trouble I had was horrible understeer at the final hairpin corner onto the main straight.

Is it too late/too full to join this season?

Just splashed out on this "badboy" so I'd like to get some good usage from it.

I have sent Mark and email to see what the score is. wink

Well I've got down to a 54.022 and that was with a small mistake so I think I can knock a couple of tenths off that but I can't work out where to find the rest.

I'll take the #1 car please smile

I managed 52.6 in a practice race - still not quite FWD's pace though.

Had another go and went the other way and threw a fair bit of wing on and changed 6th gear to match max revs on the straight, but the gear settings don't allow for optimal so it does redline, then changed 2-3-4-5th gears to match corners and give good acceleration, then took an extra big brave pill and went for it.

Could hit 52 flats, then on a second run a few 51.9s seemed to have hit a wall of time no matter what the setup low wing or high wing I couldn't go quicker until this one.

Replay file 51.7s lap - http://www.mercia.biz/rfactor/fbmw/Knockhill-FBMW-...

Finally nailed the last hairpin, bit of a lockup but got the apex and didn't understeer wide smile

Ps. This is all the practice I'm doing so I'll have probably forgotten how to do it by Sunday wink

You aren't supposed to go even faster when I've still not caught up with your previous time! wink Thanks for the set up tips though.

Having done so many laps at Kncokhill I had hoped to do well here! Trouble is I hadn't tried this car before and its a bit more sensitive than the cars I usually chuck round there so I've been going off a bit!

Afternoon gents,

I've been searching about for some fellow uk racers to hit the uk tracks in rfactor to no avail, then by pure luck i came acros you guys on here.

I have been playing sims for a while, ie gtr2, gtr evo, rfactor (the most recent to me), and even gave that nasty american money spinner iracing a go, but have settled for rfactor as the most complete total game for my taste. If you played those sims you may have seen me as The Zedman.

i love the netkar pro mod (formula fords) and the IEC(f430's) mods most weather you guys run these cars in fun events i dont know. but if you got the mods be gd to catch you in the lobby some time.

I've been active with a group of americans called JC Racing, but the time zones are a problem and they are heading down the all american iracing route, (lime rock just aint brands hatch if you know what i mean)

Anyhow, if you guys have space, would i be able to join in the uk track fest. and if so can you throw me a few links to the exact tracks you use so i dont get a mismatch.

The link on the very first page on this thread has all the track links. As for space, MJ04UK is in charge of that so drop him an email, unless he sees your post first!
