I used to play this game way too much. Had 4 level 80's and now just 1 85 retri, my main char since I started playing back in 2006. Was an officer in a raiding guild which was the oldest on the server and I guess we were quite good. It was addictive and I felt was just the same thing over and over again. Plus I would sit there for hours eating and drinking at the computer preparing for and then raiding.
Cataclysm seems fun, although you can't just slip into a 10 minute heroic, they're now minimum 30 mins-1 hour long. So casual players like me now have to only pvp or make sure i've enough time to run a heroic and pray for a decent group. Retri dps isn't that bad is it? They're going to buff it with the new mastery thingy I think.
Spend my play time which is seldom to pvp and archeology grinding.

I went on, got my password reset, started the account recovery process then got an e-mail within 10 mins saying my password had been changed again. This happened about 10 times over 2 days until I eventually reset everything from a different pc.I had run 2 different virus checkers and a spyware checker and still couldnt stop the feckers hacking my account. Blizzard were about as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

t. I never click on email links unless I'm 100% sure, and keylogging is a little difficult if you never type the password in. There *must* be some internal leaks - you can't have a company and multi-lingual support network the size of Blizzards without someone feeding out the odd account information. Although in the last case, the numb-nuts who hacked it updated my account to Cataclysm for me, so I got a free copy
Been playing using the gametime they put on for me too. The mail address I used for wow was created on my own domain mywowaccount@xx.com for example and used only for wow. It has never been used for anything else as I create a mail address specifically for each site that requests one. That way I can identify who sells my mail address and stop using them.
The amount of phishing emails I am getting at the moment is crazy.

Probably going to regret this...but since I got my account recovered and upgraded to Cata for free, I've been playing on my "free" time and rather enjoying it, even though I swore I'd never go back.
Any mature (thats the important part), casual guilds with a spare spot?? I'm done with the whole raiding thing, don't have the time, but it'd be nice to have a bit of support. As I say, needs to be mature - don't want (or understand!) any of this "omg lootz pwns" stuff. Queens English please!
All my old characters are Alliance Stormrage, but happy to play elsewhere. Not fussed about Alliance or Horde...

You'd be welcome to pop over and app for a social spot in my guild Pride of St George on Nordrassil (aka care bear server #1) (www.posg.org/forum) - pretty active socially as well as two raid teams with differing levels of focus and time demands.Any mature (thats the important part), casual guilds with a spare spot?? Well at last we're back on the raiding ladder, a guild split, a complete role change, a new guild which failed and then finally a new home.
Was it worth it? Yes very much the ghosts of rofl WoTLK content have been firmly laid to rest. The challenge now is to get people to understand that they need to bring their "a-game". I'm expecting some attrition of the raid team as people used to kill - lewtz rinse repeat find themselves actually having to do their thing properly rather than watching YouTube or FaceBooking (a new verb).

Nice, we're just in the process of reviewing our raiding - we've gone from a really solid team that took down HC LK and wanted to make a real dent on Cata progressio to half a team.Was it worth it? Of the 16 that started out in Cata we've lost 6 and I'm now shouldering guild and raid leading and, to be honest, I just can't be arsed to rebuild a raid team. Such a shame as we raced to 9/12 in early Jan and added Al'Akir a few weeks back.
Time for a change of scenery I think.

...and change it did!Handed over GM of the guild I'd been in for the last 5 years, GM of for the last 2 and swapped the safety of Nordrassil ro the PvP Realm The Maelstrom.
Been there for just over a week and it's been great. They raid a bit more than I was used to - 4 nights vs 3 and 3.5 hours vs 3, 25 man vs 10 man. Fun group of people.
Server transferred a week last Sunday and 15 mins later was standing alongside two of their Tanks being 3rd Tank on their first night of attempts on Cho'gall...
So nice not having the responsibility of having to look after people's expectations beyond playing to my highest standard.
So, I always seem to miss out when new gear becomes available at a patch or whatever so I'm saving my JP this time for when patch 4.2 hits.
Question is, is it worth doing this? Or will new gear come at the next patch?
Anyone in the know please spread some knowledge I don't play all that often anymore so don't find this stuff out.

4.1 will introduce iLvl 353 epics from the reworked ZG and ZA instances.
Been a ghost on these forums for a while now, just stumbled on this thread. I've been playing WoW for years now, and have finally decided to pack it in and stick to console gaming. Was wondering if anyone knows a good place to sell your account? Want to get back a bit of the cash I sunk into this thing. I've slapped it on ebay for now but guess it'll get taken down.
I've got 85 rogue, 85 mage, 80 pala,warrior,priest,dk. Pala has legendary weapon hand of sulfuras. Everything is pretty geared up, 310% mounts mostly, over 20k gold. Also has starcraft1/2 diablo2/expansion on the battle.net, aswell as my older wow account with wotlk and an 80 or 2 on it. Hoping to fetch in the region of £200-£300 for it. If anyone knows a good site to put it up on gimme a shout, or if you're interested yaself let me know. Happy to meet face to face or do it via paypal.
