Is it worth getting an Xbox 360 just for Forza?

Um were not in a Forza appreciation thread, the OP asked if people thought that it was worth buying a 360 for Forza 3.

In my opinion it isn't, and I expressed my opinion to give the OP a balanced view. If you don't agree then fine.

I've kept away from the billions of Forza threads and that are dominating the forum but this was a legit question asking for people opinions and experience so I answered.

Are we not allowed to not like Forza 3? Or are we just not allowed to express an opinion that differs from yours?

I wrote the post below in an unrelated thread but to sum up I just don't find the game in any way enjoyable, it's not bad but it's not fun.

People will jump on this saying stuff like "this isn't your type of game" but In actual fact I love a good Buy/Tune/Drive game (GT2 and FM1 are two of my favourite games ever).

Fact is I haven't played in in a week and I intend to trade it against CoD MW2.

I tried to like it but I just don't want to play it, I think to myself "I'll have a go at Forza 3" and then within 30 mins I am bored and end up going back to a fun game like CoD4, PGR4 or Saints Row 2.

And before someone says "wait until you get the faster cars" this is a stupid argument, you shouldn't have to play through endless hours of dullness to get to something fun in any game.

Other things that drive me mad are the horrific loading times, not seen anything this bad since the days of the Saturn which are made worse as the game looks average.
The lack of qualifying is ridiculous, why do I always have to start last? You just spend the entire race trying to catch the one unfairly fast car that started in pole position and has a 5 second lead by the time you pass the other 6 cars.

I really really wanted to like it and get into the whole PH Forza tuning and racing thing and I have tried (see me photo's in the Forza threads and my Logo's for sale).....

.....but it just bores and frustrates me, which is something a game should never do and I don't want to play it.

It's not a bad game but it's also not a very fun game.

With ref to your last post to Okgo, why didn't you say that in the first place. Your original post looked like a classic trolling post and if you had copied your comment or put a link in then at least you had backed it up.

Personally I don't care if people like or dislike games that I like, I'm too old to care what others think about me but I'd at least like people to give reasons for their opinions so that myself and others can at least weigh it up rather than seeing a yes/no answer which is really no help to the OP.

Fair enough, you weren't trolling and gave a link but unfortunately there are a lot of Fanboys when it comes to PS3 or XBox on this forum at the moment and it is getting difficult to see who is who.

Well Mike, that's pretty much what I did.

I'm a long term sony fan and bought PS1/2's just for the GT games but have been holding off the PS3 simply because of the delays with GT5. I hadn't even considered the Xbox after all the tales of reliability problems, but after seeing Forza on demo I thought "blow it" and bought a console & Forza3.

Sad to say, I doubt I'll bother with a PS3 now. GT5 would have to be VERY good for me to shell out £300 just for one game, and somehow I can't see it.

It is definitely worth getting one, I did on Thursday purely for FM3!
