Cheers dude

I tried the convoy job with the Veyron and all was going well till I lost it overtaking someone, went off-road and then slammed into a wall.

Most unfortunate
At least you could just retry them, and it doesn't matter. Go back to page 109 ish, and look at the damage on my blue/white one...

Also, a quick hint on the frim, if you just drift the track endlessly it makes it much easier to get level 10.

why even bother with FRIM? the casino slots pay out handsomely. restarted the game twice and got the R8 twice also.

If you don't have the casino, or any decent earning races unlocked... (like right at the start)

DLC2 comes in two bits. The first is the bug fixing and other alterations to allow the new stuff into the game, you'll get this when you start up the game, it'll tell you there's a software update (its a biggie so hope you have a fast internet connection!). The cars and bikes are purchased, at a cost of 79p each. I've bought all of them from this pack, and I don't think the Harley Davidson is worth buying to be honest, but definitely get the Desmosedici and Diavel, and all the cars. They're under add ons in PSN, sadly I can't comment on Xbox live or PC, but assuming the game itself is the same, you should be able to find the DLC cars in dealers and have the option to purchase them with your 79p in the game, then use the in game money to buy them (bikes are reasonable at under $20,000 each, be prepared to shell out close to $5m on the GTO; worth it!)

With regards to the FRIM, if you get a good run you can earn $10,000 a time on it, but it is incredibly frustrating with the AI cars that just seem to blindly turn in or pull out of junctions.

The casino annoys me greatly. I cannot for the life of me get the R8 out of the slot machine. Did get the fancy suit though. But the R8 still evades me, I've got every piece of the car on the machine but on different pulls. Got the first third on the first pull, the second on the second, and third on the third, (all with 2 other random symbols) and then the 4th go I got the first two parts and a random, then the 5th I got the 2nd and 3rd and a random. What was even more frustrating is some kid from Japan/Korea (I assume, he had a headset on and sounded far Eastern) jumped onto the slot machine next to me, got all 3 pieces and the car keys on the first go. bd.

Got it thanks. installed and downloaded the game last night.

will look at buying the bikes later, no point now. but got to the casino before work this moring. got hte R8 in about 15 pulls. nearly missed my train as a result though. the 50k of casino money (100k game money) is quite handy for a completely fresh char too smile

Sorry Dan, I know it won't make you pleased smile

Bikes are great fun.

Anyone have any news when we will get others? Like the Racing Bikes etc.?

Iirc there is quite a "subtle" clue there is a racing bike coming in the form of there being one in the dealership window on Ibiza.

I've gone back to TDU 1 now it seems.

I just can't gel with the cars - the only one I get on with is the F430, E type, and maybe the Corvette C6, McLaren F1 (need more driving time to decide)

All the others I find undriveable to varying degrees, whereas now the bikes make perfect sense, I've covered 500 miles over the past two days on a ZX10R, 400 on MV Agustas, 200 on the Ducatis...

I just find the bikes to be soooo much better, better on brakes, handling, obviously acceleration and speed.

TDU 1 does feel good on a PC with a wheel etc. Ie, brake linearity is really nice so you can trim speed gently into fast corners etc. The simulation handling mode when you finish the game is great too (should be an option from the start imo)

TDU 2 really is a bag of crap. It'd help if the controls worked linearly at all with a decent controller but it's all set up for console controllers or digital style input.

I can't turn through a corner smoothly or brake smoothly at all in TDU2. Plays ok on a console with a crappy controller if you like to play driving games with junk controllers.
But on good controllers it's WORSE than the first game which actually feels almost like a simulation vs TDU2 haha.

Sorry to go hating again on TDU2 but it really is a shame it is so shockingly ste. They had a great opportunity to make a better game than the first but it's actually worse in every gaming way.
TDU2 wins on graphics and stuff but after 5 mins you don't care, you just get hit in the face with not being able to drive quickly and smoothly and instantly fall out with it.

Fail fail fail fail fail! Waste of £30 through Steam. Fail fail fail...

Fail.

I thought the handling in TDU2 was good. only the braking was annoying

It gets better, the cars stop being suicidal after A5 or so.

Could be better imo it was difficult trying to hold a drift around corners. Still haven't got my RS5 or R500 frown

You can't drift properly because it has some sort of permanent ESP/TC :/

The XKR Speed is an alright car to practice.

The driving physics seem to be an afterthought if I'm honest, even with a pad they seem awful, the gearchanges are terrible (especially in auto mode), and when in Full Assistance or Sport modes (with full or half TC on) the TC seems to be "too on" and stops any fun whatsoever, but hardcore mode is just strange, and it's possible to end up doing doughnuts in the VW Beetle when trying to make a fast start (although why you'd do a 'fast' start in a Beetle is a question to be asked, although I painted mine to look like Herbie!), there's just no middle ground. Sure, the graphics look pretty, and the social side of the game is pretty good (save for all the 10 year olds in Veyrons thinking it's fun to ram any car within a mile of them), but the overall feel as a driving game leaves lots to be desired.

There should be more bikes on the way, over on the TDU2 forum, someone's discovered that there are game files for plenty more including the Triumph Speed Triple. But there is also a game file for the Ferrari F2004, i.e. the F1 car from the 2004 season (if you're not an F1 nerd like me!). And with regards to Racing Bikes, there's actually Racing Bikes dealers under construction around the islands, I think one is outside the caravan on Ibiza.

Well the speed triple will probably be a straight copy off TDU1's.

Fair enough. Were the TDU1 bikes better, worse or the same as TDU2? Sadly only having the PS2 version of the first game, I missed out on the bikes, Ferrari and Maserati, and the ability to customise characters amongst other things.
