Thanks for the tip on the gold, much appreciated. Converted a load of experience on types I haven't used in donkey's years and got me enough to get in a spanking new JagdPanther!

Still not spent a penny on it yet, have bitten the bullet and gone to the shop a few times but backed out gobsmacked at how expensive it can be. You'd have thought with the sheer amount of cash rolling in that they could afford to drop their prices a little wink

Welcome. Its the 3 year anniversary of WOT this weekend so hopefully there will be plenty of discounts / opportunities for goodies. The weekend missions are paying out gold, so thats nice.

Had some fun playing this and probably some luck, took me a while to get going but am pretty cautious with the T49 for obvious reasons.

Good job smile. T49 is strong for cleaning up at end of games like that so always best to be cautious early on. Enjoyed that, especially the arty murdering biggrin

Thanks bstb3, learning to take my time and hide and use it as a sniper as it only can take one or two shots especially from a v1.
While back I was taken out by a Pz1c for my full 100%, still have bad dreams about it now :-)

The T49 is an awesome little tank. Its fast, its stealthy and it packs a rapid firing gun with decent pen for tier 5. Just remember that it isnt a medium tank. Far too often I see people yoloing into trouble with it, and it cannot take incoming fire. A spotted T49 is generally a dead T49.

Get your tank and crew fully camoed up and use your speed to get into good sniping positions. Once you are spotted, use that speed to get out and relocate to a new spot. You should have already decided on your evacuation route and new sniping location as soon as you have set up.

Play this little beast as a stealthy sniper and it is just totally overpowered. Ive had loads of Topguns and a few Radley Walters medals doing exactly that.

Be careful with your ammo however, I have run out on more than one occasion.

Thanks for the advice.
Do you guys play the Hellcat in the same way as the T49 ?

You can mix it up with the T49 depending on the map and the opposition. It's more like a medium tank than a classic tank destroyer. It has the speed and agility to flank and dodge like a medium that's for sure. Do that in a Hellcat and you won't live long, as its terrible gun traverse speed means it's pretty lousy at close range.

I got 11 kills in a game with the T49 once, which is my highest score. I did actually run out off ammo in that one. I was about to suicide ram potential victim number 12, but someone killed him before I could get there. I've also had a Radley Walters for an 8-kill game before that. The crew weren't even at 100% and had no extra skills either.

Yes see where you are coming from Beati, had the Hellcat a while back however gave up on it pretty quick as it was going be a long grind to get the top gun.
Purchased it again now but with top gun as after watching it played by decent players its another one of those tanks that can change the outcome of a game.
Not as keen on it as the T49 however I am hoping it might grow on me.

Having come back to WoT after a year or so a few things seem to have changed. The T50 has been borked, my awesome little T50-2's been confiscated and replaced with a nowhere near as good MT-25. So is high speed scouting now just down to the AMX or are some of the higher tier ones any good? The T-50 and T50-2 used to be my biggest earners.

Has the earnings vs cost of repairs point changed much? Used to be around level 6/7, and my KV1s and IS are still returning a reasonable profit if I don't cock thing up completely (as I have several times, wasted one of yesterdays 5x bonuses on a game where I didn't even fire a shot rolleyes)

Credit earning has got a little easier with the introduction of missons, which is great if you like to use premium amoo now and then or are saving for big ticket items.

Any tips for buying a premium tank? I have grinded the German TD line thus far to a T7 JgdPanther and really enjoy stealthy long range plinking hehe

However I fancy buying into something a little (only just biggrin) different that doesn't cost too much to buy and run without gold. Thinking of the little French T3 FCM, possibly the Panther, a Matilda or Churchill or more likely a Russian T6 SU122 TD. Anything left field gratefully received, I am also tempted by the US T8 tank with spaced armour but know nothing of it.

The FCM is hugely fun to play. I have camo skill camo paint and sixth sense and a set of binoculars on it giving it great camo and a theoretical 500m view range at tier 3! The gun is pretty good too.

The Matilda is meh, the Churchill is very slow with very low alpha damage. I don't know about the others.

I've not really looked at missions, but was quite surprised when I received an extra wodge of cash for a mission that I aware I'd completed, I'd better look in to how that works then.

Hated the Churchill , didn't seem to have any reason to exist.

Matilda is awesome speced up high rof pens most things and solid armor. It it was faster it would be seriously over powered. A lot of games where it's top tier its unstoppable, limited only by how fast it moves.

I realise how much I miss it now playing td against them

Upgraded a few tanks today. Bought the Leopard Prototype and had heard stock it is a pig, and it is. First game I was top tank, 4 kills and 1 rated, could be good fully upgraded.

Also bought the IS4 which seems quite sturdy bouncing a fair amount of shots, prefer the IS7 but still a good all rounder.

Thanks chaps. I bought the French FCM T3 thingy which is awesome but painfully slow and the German T6 med tank with the sideskirts, which is damn good apart from the sides!
Got my ass absolutely handed to me tonight (again hehe) but eventually got some decent wins in for the x5 multiplier.
