See, if you push through to C or A early enough, you can negate any flankers pretty easily.
Too many people are hung up on getting the first point, when that's not the way to play metro. From the outset head straight to B
Couldn't agree more. Forget about the 200 odd points for capturing A or C - its all about heading straight for B and securing that. Same goes for Damavand Peak.Too many people are hung up on getting the first point, when that's not the way to play metro. From the outset head straight to B

Yes, it annoys the life out of me when people all stick to the first flag. No matter what the map, head for the middle flag, capture and hold it. And also remember that you only need to hold more than half the flags for the enemy tickets to bleed out - the number of people who go running around like headless chickens constantly capturing the same flags as they lose them because they are not defending....Mr Happy said:

Whenever I play metro, I can be found generally laying smoke, pushing forward as much as possible, killing the enemy and reviving my team mates...
Also, it's pointless using a T-UGS on metro as everyone knows where the pinch points are. Carrying a T-UGS on op metro is as opportunistic as carrying a U Suck At Shooting with frags!! Oh hang on...

However I don't agree with the tugs being pointless on metro though
Too many people are hung up on getting the first point, when that's not the way to play metro. From the outset head straight to B, then as soon as B is capped, lay smoke down and push through to A or C (depending on side). Once you've got through to the point nearest the enemy spawn, it's just a case of maintaining it and winning.
I sometimes also use smoke as a distraction technique - lay it down an exit you aren't going to use, and the oppo almost always automatically go towards it.
Or that's how I play metro anyway. No requirement for the recon class really, let alone a T-UGS!...
Very frustrating game on Metro yesterday, joined it mid way through, enemy already had B and C, my team just sat at the hall entrance not attempting to push. So I dig out the smoke launcher, sent one to the back of the hall for distraction, then 1 by the office, and again 1 at the nearest stairs, whilst running, down the stairs I go. Get all the way to C and then 3 or 4 of the enemy hunted me down when they saw the marker flashing. So, team chat, tell them what I'm doing and when, and to follow me down and my squad to hold their spawn and then spawn on me as soon as they see me down there. 8 times I make it, 8 times I'm on my own, 8 times I'm hunted down and murdered like a mangy dog!

I've been on a serious roll with the tank busting too. I think c4ing tanks may be one of the most fun things you can do in a game.
I love BF31!
Good effort. Im a fully converted COD man, I fell in love with the game when I first C4'd a tank. There is no better feeling than sneaking up from the side and putting a few on (3 for safety!) and standing back. If there is more than 1 player in the tank and they spot me I quite often sacrafice myself for the team.I love BF31!
Other great C4 moments were camping in the hangars at wake island and putting them on Jets! Then jihad jeeping a very low flying/hovering Havoc on operation firestorm!
Well last night I unlocked the USAS, two good metro games later I had ramped up 60kills and had the 12g Frag! Loaded it into support for unlimited ammo and headed off to Caspian border, first ever stint with the gun was a 7 Kill streak protecting the first mcom. Was it fun - Yes. Did I feel bad - umm I did feel like bit of a cheat! But the stupid team should have learned to kill me before heading back to the mcom.
I dont think I will become a USAS fanboy, I much prefer the accuracy and power of the MA41, but I need to use it for a while to make up for all the times I have been killed by it!

If as US you cap C and D or RU you cap A and B (to a lesser extent) it knocks the tactics of the oppo quite dramatically.
Of course, this isn't the only tactic - just one that works well for me!

Same on damavand. Sod the first one, straight to the middle and get it held. Preferably with some mines spammed about to take out the inevitable tank and hummer combo.Too many people are hung up on getting the first point, when that's not the way to play metro. From the outset head straight to B,
Though I've noticed that more and more people are able to spot mines these days, which is a shame as I love the cheap kills.
Edit - doh, read the thread first

I tend to play Medic on Metro. Many a time I've won MVP without evening firing a shot
Squad sprint, straight to B, drop health packs and go prone right by the flag. The amount of players when US, who hide behind the wall at the top of the esculator at B, never fails to amaze me. You aren't close enough to the flag to cap it or defend it!
I've played a few games where I've been prone by the flag, we've been overrun and the enemy haven't spotted me for about 10mins - mucho fun. People seem unwillingly to sacrifice themselves for the flag. If I see it dropping, I make sure I get close to it, even if I can't see where the enemy is or if it means crossing the firefight. Many people seem to think that defending the flag means taking up a position where they can aim at on-coming enemies. It doesn't, you have to physically hold the flag by keeping bodies around.

Get 20 kills with the M320.

With regards to satisfying C4. The most satisfying, if somewhat camping trolling, is on Kharg Island.
Both sides have a choke point for their tanks to exit from. Most easily spot landmines even if they don't use the thermal optics but rarely does anyone recognise C4 visually or thermally. If you place it just right and sit back and wait eventually a tank will start to roll in the right direction. Sit back and trigger the c4, I made one tank almost flip fully forwards. Replaced C4 and waited, I manged 4 tank kills this way before they wised up, so I just put the C4 inside their protected boundary where they never expect it.
C4 is seriously good fun.
Another good place for it is on Sienne Crossing. Go to capture flag C then drop C4 down the stairway. The enemy expect m18s so go prone/crouch but as soon sa their heads appear, trigger it. I've had quite a few hateful messages but overall most satisfying.

I shouldn't give this away, but on Kharg when you lose the beach, I wait. Then when the enemy vehicles spawn, I put a bit of C4 on say the rear tank and on a jeep.. Then I nick the first tank and race to our base. Then jump out and randomly detonate...... Usually get the second tank and the jeep too. I have also just sat on the tank spawn and dropped C4 on both tanks and let them drive off in them. THEN detonate........

Sometimes the anticipation, the waiting the giggling to myself is too addictive. I've ruined my states recently just doing this as I've acheived most of what I want to do!None of my friends play hardcore which is a shame, I point out its actually easier as you tend to die less and kills are easier. My new mission is to do the C4 tank then Shotgun it.
The USAS is highly entertaining with frag rounds. I took out a fully loaded helecopter that was spamming the base on Davamand peak (they always go for our chopper), its also hugely entertaining getting very long range kills of snipers when playing in the TV station in Karkland. They never learn, you fire off two and get proximity kills. Got a silly 150+ head shot which for a shotty is quite good.
M18's is another joy to behold, Grand Bizzare I know the places I would go if I was camping/sneaking and never fail to get a high yeild that way.
I only play conquest though as I don't tend to enjoy rush, playing with randoms you usually end up with a bunch of idiots so my W/L is 0.5 (only done about 30 or so rushes, need one more mcom for the pp)
