Am I doing something wrong?
Joining a quick match used to mean just that, you'd join an EA server with rotating maps for a few quick rounds.
Now I just seem to get out into matched that either have hundreds of spawn tickets or the same map over and over.
Very frustrating as it all it seems to do is drop me into people's custom servers.

Ive just had a play to kill some time on the PH Xbox server. Gamertag Iamsparticus invited me over and we had the server to ourselves. Had a couple of heli battles then he started playing conquest properly and took over all the bases.
He had a nice RPG kill on my heli whilst I was scanning the ground looking for him!

no probs playing hide and seek against you in a helecopter was funny. Trouble is you kept moving and wouldn't settle it took four shots to actually hit you in the end with the RPG. I was pooing it everytime I missed in case you spotted the rocket goin past your cockpit. He had a nice RPG kill on my heli whilst I was scanning the ground looking for him!

I think if you go into the server broswer, and untick the custom server type, that when you go back to quickmatch it uses the same filters and so you'd be put into a regular Dice/EA server...Joining a quick match used to mean just that, you'd join an EA server with rotating maps for a few quick rounds.

I just tried three servers, all with "no camping at spawn points" in their blurb, and guess what? Two of them had campers at the spawn points. f
kers! The third didn't but I got kicked by an admin because I kept killing him. And I browse and find a server with people ranked similar to me and within about ten minutes it's full of bloody Colonels!

Loads of PS3ers on last night. I was playing Bazaar and got migraine half way through, so had to go to bed. I was gutted. Never seen that many PH clan tags in one game before.

As far as I'm concerned, its not my server, its the collective group's.
Anyone outside PH I'm not worried about - if they are annoying, kick them.
If its a fellow pher however, then I think it should be called out on here for collective decision making, with (for this month anyway) my ultimate sanction.
After all, I don't get a chance to play during the week cause I'm not at home, and when I am I have to juggle missus and kids needs as well. Setting up a server just for my likes would be a waste of time and money.
I love this site, and the people on here have been vicarious friends through good times and some really very bad. I thought an extention of here in the bf3 world was a worthwhile activity.
Hopefully (and from the comments I'm reading jealously this week), that's the result that comes out of having it.
After all, it is only a bloody game!

I now tend to use it prior to them firing, to give me time to get under radar/kill what is aiming at me, but always worth spamming the button if you hear that missile tone...

I always make the missis wait till that game I'm playing ends or I'll get no points for my efforts
