Taken from the Fairford Airshow to LHR charter flight.

Fotango has compressed the photo's a little though.

About 4000 feet approx 5-10 miles from Fairford.

Fairford Airshow

Somewhere South West of Heathrow.

Brooklands partly obscured by cloud from approx 10,0000 feet.

In the stack at 10,000 feet over south London looking south/south west "ish."
I've blown this up to A4 size and it is impressive

Crystal Palace in the centre of the picture.

Hi Lee

Nice shots.
Now I know who compiles all the photos of people houses!
Were they giving rides or was it a work thing?

I have 3 airline regrets.
1) I never flew Concorde.

2) I never got to do a take off / landing from a 747 flight deck.

3) I'll never see a Carvair fly again.

It was something you could buy from the RIAT web site.

It was £125 and that included entrance to the airshow, which is usually £29 in advance £35 on the day.

On the way there I got one of the centre seats, seat F, so I didn't see sod all on the way, but it didn't really matter as the cloudbase was about 1000 feet.

On the way back I got seat 44A, right next to the window

The pilot really opened it up on the way out of Fairford as we were running with about 35-40 tons of fuel, (usually they have 180 tons) nothing more than hand baggage, and no catering.

We were up at 3000 feet within a minute and a half, and were climbing at 4000 feet per minute.

I've got the take off on my digital camera as an MVI file.

It is quite impressive.
