Hi,
Has anyone used Nomatica to buy cameras? As I understand it, they are French sourced cameras - the warranty is still valid in the UK but the manual is French. I am after the Nikon D70 and I believe I can download the English manual but does anyone know if there are any other considerations?
Link here
TIA.

Well at least they told you. Technically it would be a grey import so double-check the warranty terms. It will be interesting to see if the Nikon site says anything rude if you enter your serial number but say you're in the UK...!
But the price is very good - if they actually do have stocks, it's tempting. I checked with my supplier and they still have over 600 on back-order
Try posting on www.nikonians.org for a more detailed response.

Thanks for the link BTW.
Ex-Biker said:Thanks for that, the prices are more for the comparable product (D70 and 18-70mm Nikkor lens - £999 vs. £853) - I have done LOADS of searching and Nomatica were the cheapest. Lots of places had Sigma lens' or the 28-80mm (which wasn't wide enough for me given the cropping factor). I was recommended to stick with the Nikkor in the first instance. It also boiled down to stock - almost nowhere has any, certainly not the cheaper places (for obvious reasons!) and Nomatica had some!

The camera arrived just in time for him to take it along on holidays.
Because PH was down for most of yesterday I bit the bullet and ordered it anyway! Their online stock check said that they had more than 20 so I placed the order. The status now says that one has been reserved for me, pending payment validation.
Really looking forward to getting it! I'll lets y'all know how I get on!!
Thanks again for your responses - and thanks in anticipation of lots of teccy questions you seem like a prime candidate simpo two too!
