To be fair at 1/320th he'd have got the blur from the shaking of his other hand.
'Koff, you.

I knew I should have focused on the parking sign or something.

IMO Shooting a long lens on a high pixel cropper needs a truckload of technique.

I would start at 1/2*focal length at a minimum if hand held, so 1/1000th.

Also with the 50-500 its best stopped down a little at the long end, you can get great results with it but shooting at 400-500mm on a modern high pixel body is a total complete new ball game.

I'd do some focus MA on it too as dof is also pretty slim even at longer distances.

I don't think that needs any micro adj. The original subject matter was more interesting though smile

Same shop had a Sigma x2 teleconverter in the window today.

So, 750mm becomes 1500mm:

You do realise that you're now on a slippery slope without any brakes. Soon you'll see that there are more advanced cameras, faster cards, carbon fibre tripods...

A face mask always helps though?
Auto Focus Mirco Adjust smile

Sigma's can be perfectly sharp, i have this lenses little brother (120-400) which get worse reviews for sharpness but its pretty good at f/8 and using the centre AF point.
