I love this, and I'd love a Sprinter Trueno.

It's missing some tofu shop lettering on the door though biggrin

OK, had a quick play with my HDR image just now. Managed to pull all the saturation out of the yellow and orange channels to neutralise the horrible streetlight in the background. Took a bit of the glare out of the shop windows to the left but I can't get any more out really without them looking washed out. They're actually darker now than they are in the darkest exposure so I guess I maybe just didn't get enough range in the exposures I shot. I've desaturated it a bit as well to take the pink out. It's better I think but still not great.

You have decreased the luminance of those windows mate but they are still from a source that is totally overexposed and clipped - albeit a bit lower level now. Can you not cut in the windows from the lowest exposure shot? Looks a lot better generally now too smile

Ah I see what you mean - I only have Lightroom, no PS so I don't have layers to play with.

If I get a chance this evening I'll try redoing the HDR but lose the brightest exposure or two, may try developing one or two of the base shots and see if it's possible to get a nicer looking image overall out of that.

Sorry never used Lightroom as only have Camera Raw in Photoshop - but it looks so quick when I see the pros using it. You must have the car as the brightest sharpest object in the scenee - hit the background with a huge vignette maybe too!

Hmm, well it's never going to the brightest object given it's a dark blue colour but I'll see what else I can do. It was just an experiment really. I did look last night and even in the darkest exposure of the set the bright lights in the window are still clipped.

Without wanting criticise anyones work in any way ... but am i the only one who thinks a lot of the images posted on here now look like a screen grab from an animated movie?

It seems that there is more effort put into post production than the actual photography itself these days.

Don't get me wrong, i'm a huge fan of post production but I still want to see car photographs that look like car photographs rather than an image that doesn't look real and almost 'cartoonish'.

What does everyone else think, maybe I'm just getting old?

Just stumbled across this forum, can't wait to wade through this whole thread in particular, obviously lots of talented photographers here! I've had a photography business for 4 years now photographing animals, have just started on cars and really enjoying shooting with something that stays still, learning as I go along.

Photographed at Peel, Isle of Man, July 13, 2008. I had a brief chat with the owner of this 1957 Morgan. It was one of two Morgans he owned. The one pictured was formerly owned by the actor John LeMesurier (Sgt. Wilson in Dad's Army).
