What do you mean? It was a nightmare to shoot though I was shooting smaller dogs running through those flowers and even though I was using probably the best gear possible for the job (1Dx and 70-200 f/2.8 IS) still only ended up with I think three shots out of over 150 that had focus where I wanted it to be
The results were much better for a close up portrait:

Well, the dog is perfectly sharp. Lovely. Then I think 'What else is sharp? Aha, the flowers in the bottom left corner'. But hold on, those flowers are much nearer the camera than the dog is. Tiny aperture? No, because the flowers on the right, the same distance from the camera as the dog, are soft. And the stems are sharp but the flowers on the top are not. So I think 'Aha, a TS lens, with the plane of focus running from the flowers bottom left, through the dog, to the top right. But no, the top right is very out of focus. And yet the flower bottom right is almost sharp. So we have a plane of focus that is running from bottom left foreground, through the dog centreground, and back to the flower bottom right. It ain't flat! So I wondered if you had either done some compositing or PS blurring.Other than that tecchy conundrum, you are certainly Head of Dogs

Holy Batman thread resurrection!
I can finally share the good news - this photo has won me the Kennel Club's 2014 UK Dog Photographer of the Year title for Dogs at Play.
The prize is a nice Samsung NX300 mirrorless camera, which I will be giving away in a special Facebook poll, so stay tuned

Nessie, that fourth image is beautiful!
Wow, thanks. I was just mucking about one evening at home with a speedlight and soft box and managed to get that. Never done anything like that before so very pleased with them. I am normally an outdoorsy action shot type of guy so big departure from me.Have another.
