I've got a Canon Powershot A310. Great little camera. The one you've linked to seems to be a upgraded model too.

Not too big, easily fit in my pocket along with my phone and keys

Takes great photos. I'm half tempted by a D-SLR but don't really see a need at present.

www.dpreview.com is a US site with lots of reviews on, as well as a gallery of examples from the various cameras.

If you take a lot of indoor photos, avoid the Sony T1 like the plague. Even with manual control, the flash is woefully underpowered and even with redeye correct on, everyone comes out looking like extras from the Vampire Lestat.

Great for taking along for outdoors stuff, but I went out and bought the Sony P150 for general purpose take along...

Cheers

Thanks Ernest. No BTaP this year?

No disrespect but do you say "cheers" when you are at home in Florida?
Just wondered what the reaction would be.

Actually, the following terms are becoming more in fashion in the US:

Cheers - usually online, but more and more "in person".

Spot On - I've heard three newscasters and several clients use that expression in the last month...

It's inevitable - we will learn to speak proper English

No BTaP this year - business commitments. I am hoping for next year and bring the Mrs with me...

Yeah but what about the car?
Perhaps tie in Pistonfest with a Euro tour?

If you ever pop over give us plenty of notice and we'll organise a big meet to get everyone together.

Do you think they'll ever say "arse" instead of "ass"?!

My mother does - but she's Scottish...

Absolutely will give plenty of notice. I really look forward to seeing everyone again. Greg - no spicy food for her - her limit is tomato ketchup - Hunts not heinz

This was taken with our sony cybershot, here is a newer model of it. Only £156, we originally bought ours for £200 with a £50 memory card on top. Very small, will easily fit in a pocket and takes up no more room than a mobile.

Mind you, that will be over your budget with a decent memory card...

A small person holding a small pie taken with a small camera observed by a person with small interest.

I know mungo 'YOU ARE NOT SMALL!'

If you can stretch the budget I would recommend the Petax optio S. It fits in yer pocket , goes everywhere and mine has survived several 'pint dunkings' now.
Go for the Optio S4 (4 megapixel) and get it off ebay for a reasonable price brand new.

cheers (I'm not American and I do say it in day to day conversation)

Thanks for the advice too. I think the only way to do it is to walk in to a shop and purchase one at whim.
