Right new xmas present for lisa. Either a Pentax Optio 555 ( brilliant camera which i've used before althought now discontinued for the SV I think)

or Sony DSC P150 benefit being good video for the new fishlet and long battery time. Only down side is the 3x optical instead of 5x but at 7.2m pixel we could zoom in after wards.

Thoughts people.. I'm pretty set on the Sony though. I'll be getting a 1GB pro memory stick as well.

Hang on...you want to discuss your wife's Chrsitmas present...in a public forum?

Are you mad?

I think a Tiffany necklace and matching bracelet would be great, not a poxy camera. Buy that yourself, but only mention it when she takes the wrapping off and sees the sky blue box and yelps in delight.

Sensible policy for a happily married Albion, as DeR once said.

But I want a camera, and we have discussed it already

Plus I already have diamonds, I don't need anymore In fact I find Tiffany's quite overrated

James,

try www.DPreview.com
You can compare the 2 cameras you have asked about. Not sure if the link to it will work. If not select "buying guideside by side" from the menu on the left.
www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare_post.asp?method=sidebyside&cameras=pentax_optio555%2Csony_dscp150&show=all

Also Im sure there is a new Pentax coming out which will be of the spec you like. Theres also a tasty new Canon to suit your requirements. Im sorry I cant give you the details but I left this months Photography Monthly at home.

Another good place to review cameras is the Warehouse Express website. They also have excellent prices and ALL the newest kit.
