Thanks, I'll bear that in mind for another time. We're not beer drinkers as a rule, prefer cider, but we are doing a series of these and need to have some variety

Is that a tradition for the original recipe?

If so does it still apply to the new variant?

When it changed (probably for the umpteenth time in recent history) under new ownership I thought it had lost most of the character I liked about it.

Not tried it for a while now.

I think it's a tradition. It keeps the head. I'm sure I read it on the bottle once. I haven't had Newcastle Brown for a while either. There are far too many tastier real ales to be bothering with it.

I think that is true these days. Microbrewing seems to be in vogue.

There was a time when NB stood somewhat apart as a bottled beer.
