My father took me to Farnborough air show when the Lightening, then English Electric and without the unsightly midriff bulge, flew along just a few feet above the runway and then pulled into a climb straight up, the exhaust almost obscuring the plane. Stunning. And then, a couple of years or so later, I paid for him to go and the Blackburn Buccaneer flew along the runway at a ridiculously low altitude, rolling slowly to demonstrate the bomb door.
Good memories of me and my dad.
Thanks.

A most interesting composition Mike.
The foreground colour mix is not something one sees everyday in Landscapes.
Is that the RAW as processed by PS Elements?
If so, do you fancy sharing the file with me to see what Capture One can do?
I think the 600mm end of the lens works well based on the pics you've posted previously but I'm interested to see how C1 processing compares at the wide end with so much small detail potentially available a the wider end.. That foreground looks like a nice play area for such activity!
Cheers LQ - be interested to see what you make of it. YHM The foreground colour mix is not something one sees everyday in Landscapes.

No worries good memories, my dad tells me we went to an airshow and saw them take off but unfortunatly not something I can remeber. have to be honest and say I hadn't noticed the bulge till I got home, think I prefered the other one My father took me to Farnborough air show when the Lightening, then English Electric and without the unsightly midriff bulge, flew along just a few feet above the runway and then pulled into a climb straight up, the exhaust almost obscuring the plane. Lovely picture but the odd cloud formation (a third in from the top and a third in from the right) catches my eye every time.DibblyDobbler said:
I'm not generally a great fan of "arty" stuff in photo editors because I think they need careful use and few people using them seem to exercise that care. (At least in the locations I find myself freqenting.)However, I rather like that DD. It just seems to work to be what I think you set out to achieve. Bravo!
More new light painting. I was granted access to a fantastic location recently and tonight I finally got to shoot there. I can see a few more visits will be needed to get everything I have planned here.

ETA sell it on line to the fans of 'The Last Kingdom' (as you know, this is where the books all lead)
