I seem to spend half of my life at the moment at a new pump track near me with my 14 yr old who is getting so stylish.
We were there Monday and I chose his red top to stand out and with the moody sky these are the best pics I've taken here so far.

Just wow. I've been photographing action sports for 10 years plus and your photos always make me depressed!I seem to spend half of my life at the moment at a new pump track near me with my 14 yr old who is getting so stylish.

Did you use off camera flash for these? Lighting on subject is spot on.

No OCF used for these, all natural light. A couple were a bit overexposed due to the changing light and waiting for my lad to do his stuff but i do spend more time processing these ones rather than my usual race ones.

Great shots there nessiemac! Very well taken and processed, enjoy them a lot.
My first crack (pun) at snapping lightning. Currently in Medellin Colombia. No tripod so camera was balanced on a stool/pillow/cooking pot (I've got all my excuses lined up!)
Tips certainly welcome for next time
Oh and for reference, this is the view from the day time -

The only tip I'd give is that if you post process in something like Lightroom, it's easy to 'correct' the wide angle distortion, so all the buildings will stand straight, not at strange angles. My first crack (pun) at snapping lightning. Wow, thanks for sharing the originals. Actually helps mere mortals like myself feel a bit more confident about what's coming out of the camera. Just need to up my editing game a bit now!No OCF used for these, all natural light.
