I've never used anything beyond a phone camera for instagram pictures of cars before but bought a 700D with a kit lens, a cheapo 50mm prime, bag, remote and batteries for £280 3 weeks ago for a trip to Iceland. Picked up a semi decent tripod on eBay that arrived a few hours before my flight. Pretty happy with some of the photos I managed.

If you’ve genuinely never used a ‘proper’ camera before, I think you did amazingly well. They look really good to me thumbup

Given you only just got the camera that's a top job all round.

Very kind gents, thank you. A crash course on YouTube over a few evenings before departure gave me the very basics. I found it all very enjoyable, so much so I’ve been looking at new bodies for the past few days...

Perhaps look at lenses first. Maybe a wide angle if you prefer landscape shots?
