I don't think you are allowed to refer to people as Firemen now.

FIrefighters I believe is the correct term - though it sounds a bit macho to me.

That said there are those that might suggest things are pretty even among the sexes (and those who are fluid too I dare say) in the fighting department up North.

Obviously only wimpy southerners would say such things.
