Consider a 2nd hand Olympus E-10. It's a fixed lens DSLR (though the olympus converters are v good). I've got on I bought from fellow PHeader.. very very happy with it.

just had an email from 7dayshop, they are selling off the old eos300D for £399 or with a 18-55 lens for £449.

Mighty impressive pricing there!

I'm sure I saw a new 300d with 18-55 for £499 the other day.
