Do you like skiing? - PIC HEAVY!
Discussion
Something new for me - I normally specialise in skating photos but I went with a massive group of mates to Three Valleys and of course brought my camera gear with me
Considering I only skied (?) for 4 days before I think I did rather well taking photos while doing so.
There's way more photos, if you wish to see all of them they are at: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.55053271...

I've skied for several years but have only taken an SLR once on the slopes, even though I'm confident on skis. I have recently bought a Canon G7X though and I think that will be going out with me in March.
Good shots there by the way. Really captures the mood, and I may even bring my blades out of retirement having seen those.

I have a G7x as a video/backup. Make sure to keep it in a case of some sort when skiing. I kept in my jacket pocket and didn't think that while wearing merino base and down mid layer it's all highly breathable and all my sweat went through it and condensated in my pocket. Camera was dripping wet but still works fine. Good shots there by the way. Really captures the mood, and I may even bring my blades out of retirement having seen those.

Hehehe, I thought everyone skiis down the black route seeing where they're going through the viewfinder and 200mm lens?
I think it was a red down there but there were quite a few black ones involved. I loved it down the Le Mass.
That's why I was asking!I think it was a red down there but there were quite a few black ones involved. I loved it down the Le Mass.
it's either a direct straight black route over moguls, or a C shaped route to the right as you go down.
Even that wasn't straightforward - respect to you! It's one thing taking that on the green runs, another on red/black!
From La Folie Douce if you look back to the route down, you can see everyone wiping out on the black route, it's the busiest on the hill. I see they have the same DJ/MC there still...
Did you stay in Reberty?

Yeah, near Kaya hotel. La Ferme was our local Brilliant place.it's either a direct straight black route over moguls, or a C shaped route to the right as you go down.

Can't wait to go again, hopefully before the end of March.

Ah! Good tip. Still waiting for my case from Jessops since buying it in December! Had ordered the Canon one but may just go for a generic one now so I at least have one.Goody13 said:

Be careful with the original Canon one! I bought one but returned it. There was a design flaw in mine which meant the magnet wasn't catching correctly and the case was constantly opening itself. I bought a Lowepro Dashpoint 10, it's a ver low profile but perfect fit for G7X
