Murcielago Shoot

Simply awesome! And the tutorial is just as good!
Next time you get a shoot like that you should let us know - I for one would love to have a go at something like that just for fun! (Especially without the stress knowing my pictures are only a backup and there is a real photographer on hand )

Most outstanding stuff. I particularly like the tracking shots 1 and 4 , the stationary no. 2 and the tongue in cheek of no. 5.
I suspect the first prospective customer Mr Barker shows these to will be reaching for the wallet ASAP. I would hope a retainer is on the way for you, jason would sell them as fast as he can get them with your images to support him.
I love looking at your car work, you have a real talent for photography. After looking through your tutorial I realise how planned you are but you also seem to capture the personality of the car. For instance in the tracking shot you can imagine seeing that in your review view mirror and thinking the beast is pawing the ground waiting to be unleashed

Thanks for your comments Chris,
I definately think the planning makes a big difference. I was going for a kind of sci-fi look with the car under the cover with just one light shining on it, which i think reflects what this car is actually like when you see it in the flesh. I definately agree that catching the personality is important, a bright yellow lambo makes it easier though as it makes a very bold statement. It is an easy car to photograph in this respect, and the fact that it looks great from any angle certainly helps!
Thanks again

Nice shots there Matt.
You're right in that it is a photogenic car/colour combination, but even so, it takes a lot more than that to get the kind of shots that you've managed.
How did you find the locations btw? Do you make a mental note of suitable places whenever you pass one by, or did someone else recommend them to you?

the watkinson sharpening technique: borrow 28-70 2.8L from srider. hehehe.
To keep the tracking shots sharp just gotta make sure the cars are travelling at the same speed.
Elsewhere its the Unsharp Mask tool, threshold 0, amount 100%, pixels 1-2 or on high ISO files I use fredmiranda's intellisharpen 2 with zero halo and reduce colour noise settings after a bit of neat image.
On these lambo photos i didnt really sharpen any static shots, that 28-70L is AMAZING. shame im giving it back tomorrow...

These shots are really excellent. Everything came together, the planning, execution, and artistic vision. I would be very very pleased with myself if I'd taken any of these shots. Well done!
To those that were interested the lens I lent Matt was a Canon 28-70 2.8 L. It's an absolutely stunning lens, very sharp, and the build quality is amazing. No wonder it's been a standard lens for pros for years. My copy is slightly used looking, but I picked it up from eBay for £350, and optically it's in very good condition.
