My father was in a small group of friends when he used the term gocs. I let it go but when it was used again I asked what it meant.

'God's own country,' I was told. 'The world's full of them.'

In effect it meant colonial.

Hmm - interesting. To me it just means a place so stunning it must have been made by God smile

Just passing through - heading north. Started on Barra and ended up at the Butt of Lewis.

You guys are good ! This is a lovely corner of Pistonheads and I always love to see a new Drone Pics notification.

They're all my favourites but for me this is a wonderful shot. Just look at that sea !

A neighbour of mine has a new boat:

That and the castle in Wales/Heredforeshire a few pages back.

I've loved photography since being a young man and these photos capture a totally fresh perspective on the world.

Fox Talbot would love it.

pictures are more important than videos to me

I would say the ability to take photos in RAW, as the camera's IQ are not that bright and you'll need to sort out some contrast / exposure issues in post.

You'll be able to pick up a second hand DJI Phantom 3 or 3 pro for that sort of money - which both do RAW and many of my photos here were taken with said camera: http://stevecarter.com/random/Aerial.htm

i wouldn't bother they just aren't any good, they won't be stable at height and will blow away easily. I'd save for a DJI spark as a minimum and they tend to drop about £500 some times.

Be warned. Spark does not take photos in RAW.

Well quite, but there are loads out there. Photographically, much better to get a P3 than a new £200 drone.

I use my Mavic Pro for the same thing - decent stills, never bothered with video on it
RAW files, very portable and easy to use
Not sure what used ones are doing but I'd recommend it

Yes, without a doubt.
I love my spark, the portability is a huge bonus but they're still the best part of £500 with a controller which I think it's a necessity.

I certainly agree. The Spark's steering without the controller is far to 'vague'.
