Possibly the best photo so far from the Mavic.

Well I can now join this exclusive club!
I've decided to go for my drone license as I work in offshore inspection and I think it's the way things are going. Plus I've wanted one for ages...

After a frankly ridiculous amount of research I decided to go all in, and now own a DJI Inspire 2 with the X5 camera.

First flight was yesterday, interrupted by my android tablet having a hissy fit and disconnecting from the system, thankfully RTH worked just fine and it returned safely.
I flew again today, tablet still wasn't working but my IPhone worked ok. Re-installing the app seems to have cleared the problem but I noticed that IPhone App seemed to work better.

Couple of my first (crap) photos, the local industrial estate provided an area without people, traffic or stuff to hit.

I think the IOS app is generally more stable than the Android.

Mind you DJi are frankly annoying with their updates, and they often frequently break stuff with them. Try to switch autoupdate off, and let others test them first!

I did seem to spend an awful long time doing updates on the first night to get everything onto the same version, then again when I fired up the Inspire to fly.
I couldn't find some of the menu options on the android app, they were there with the IPhone!
Things like flight modes (atti etc) were disabled until I plugged in my phone. An IPad has been added to the xmas list, I'll use my wife's one for the time being.

Having a look through the DJI forums seems to confirm the Apple bias with the app.

I'm very impressed with the Inspire though! Think I'll book the course for January to give me plenty of time to build up confidence flying it.

A couple of tiny planet shots taken with the mavic pro. One yesterday with nice but freezing (-2) weather and one from the brief snowfall today.

A shot from above our villa in Bali, looking towards mountains and possibly the volcano that the media are going mad about. It's not erupting.....

Using a Mavic Pro, 5 bracketed exposures and HDR composite from Lightroom CC Classic.

Went to do some pics and video in the snow today, but it was surprisingly windy. I haven't looked at the footage yet, but I think it will have been affected.
