What I find funny though is the amount of effort people put into justifying why they have this camera, and why it's better than that one etc...
True. At the end of the day (apart from it getting dark) we buy what we buy because we like it and it suits our budget. And as long as we're happy with it, that's all that matters. There are cameras better than mine, and cameras cheaper than mine - most of us float somewhere in the middle according to budget and preferences.
NB Bacardi, if you fancy doing a spot of D&P, a friend of mine is considering selling off her darkroom... hubble bubble
One of the best things about photography is photographers. In the 10 years that I've been 'into' taking photographs, as opposed to 'snaps', I've met an awful lot of nice people with a similar interest. I cannot remember, ever, talking to another photographer and not thinking "what a nice bloke" or similar.
The same goes here, I think that, without exception, you are all a great bunch. It doesn't matter what you're experience or what gear you have/haven't got, it's great to see all this interaction without the oneupmanship and hostility seen on a lot of the other threads. Gentlemen, I salute you!
Martin.
