And theres me looking at going from 7D Mk1 to 5D2... LOL...
FF is so damn expensive.
Thats what I did, some ways a step back ( speed etc) but the sensor is much better for landscapesFF is so damn expensive.
[quote=Havoc856Agree though there doesn't look like much of an upgrade... maybe they're taking a leaf from Apple....
The 1dxmk2 AF will be amazing, its unflapable. 7fps is good, the dual pixel focus is miles ahead of the class for live view/video focusing. it has a lot going for it.

The 5d mk3 jump considerably in price compared to the mk2 and this one seems to have gone up again. I'm starting to think a 6d mk2 if/when it arrives will be the route to go. As an amatuer I'm not sure that I'd use a 5d mk4 to its fullest extent.

No 4k HDMI!
That along with no C-Log and the slow cards is a deal breaker for me. Canon would have had my money.
I'm now thinking 6d mkII and a GH5 when they arrive but that's still two cameras to lug around.
A7RII was just too slow and fiddly.
Where did you find out the info about the card slot speed? That along with no C-Log and the slow cards is a deal breaker for me. Canon would have had my money.

I've been looking for ages but must be missing it. This was also a problem with the 5D mk iii if you used an SD card as a backup it reduces both CF and SD to non -UHS standards which was rubbish.

PITA as Canon are using MJPEG as a codec. Files will be massive to load into your computer.
This could have been the ultimate camera for me but Canon obviously want to protect their video line.

That was the one single thing I was hoping to get from the 5D IV. So far I've been lucky and never had a card fail but it's bound to happen. I think the 5Ds has both slots being fast so I might get one of those instead.

It is clearly a better Camera but it's a lot more than the mk3 was at launch.
The MKIII was £2999 in 2012... With inflation etc over the years, it's not really "that" much more expensive than the MKIII was.I wonder how many people would be moaning if it came out with CFast saying "Great now I have to buy all new memory cards". As said, the 5D is not the sports/wildlife camera of choice. I think your model would be quite frightened if you shot for 3 seconds continuously.
All these online reviews slagging the camera off make me laugh. None of them have actually used the camera or seen the results it can give, so at the moment it's all speculation.
I personally don't think Canon were ever going to do that as it would stop people buying a 1DX2 or their Cine line of video cameras.
Plus, the 1DX2 has those features and look how much that costs. To include those features in the 5D4 would have bumped up the price and people are already moaning about the price. Think what the reaction would be if it was £4600 instead?
