Dave...shall i send you an image taken with flash with a fair amount of 'black' in the image?
Let me know how you wish the image formatted
Cheers

i'd be more interested to hear your general views on the pictures you've taken so far. i can't really tell why the noise is a lot worse in some photos than others. the ISO 200 photo in this thread
www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?f=109&h=0&t=166740
was taken with almost identical exposure settings to the one of the girl above. There is really no noise in it at all. The only difference I can think of is the white balance, but it was on Auto for the picture of the girl so I don't know exactly what setting it chose, only that the resulting image was a bit blue.
What do you use your camera for mainly, and have you seen any of these problems?
I use mine principally for yachting stuff but really haven't explored it in that respect too much yet....off to Antigua in a couple of weeks though. I did an indoor shoot and although I rarely used my fave lens the 70-200 f2.8 Vr resorted to the 18-70 for most shots I was pretty chuffed with the resultant images.and was also happy with my rally shots
I rarely shoot on ISO above 400 so have not been aware of any noise issues.

I've just had a look at that one you sent me a few weeks back from the rally, shot at 800. Looks pretty good, a bit more noise in the B channle but not a lot. I would guess from the photo that it was an overcast day though, and therefore the B channel would have been supressed. Will be interested to see what you come up with when you get some indoors low light stuff.
