Reading FM and i found this site: www.mooncruise.com/shell.html
I love it!, some great photographs and some great music. This stuff is really speaking my language
( no affiliation, unfortunately )
I havn't checked out the whole site as to be honest i find looking at a picture for the whole duration of the track quite pleasing. However some of the stuff is quite raw and there may be some UNSAFE FOR WORK stuff.
ALso checking out an arguement between the purists and the more creative guys here. www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/208382 I have to say i love this guys work....the colours, the action, the realism and thought provokiveness?...it may turn FLESHY as well.
Love to know what you guys think.
Your style, is it a mixture of the heart and eye?, a blend of imagination and the book or what.

Actually, reading on a bit from the FM arguement i have to say that the guys attitude is a bit cliche to me in that " i don't care " kind of way. Dunno why but i preferr people that are a bit more modest?; no maybe humble....well maybe not, i don't know the real word but he's getting on my nerves now.
Anyway they are still good photos.
AND!!! This music is realy good. might see about purchasing some.

Yeah, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Right pain in the proverbial.

Right i'm off to work now but i have to say some of these pictures are realy cr@p!, except that they are not!, cos i am looking at them and liking them a lot.
It's realy confusing me actually. Once you get to grips with clicking through some of the portfolios quickly it's almost like peering into a nightmare!. coupled with the modern punk/cafe off the wall music the whole experience becomes somewhat, well, angry realy.
What is it about these badly composed pictures full of noise and saturation of mostly mudane subjects that gets me?
Some of them could do with a little more attention to detail and a little less rule breaking for me to buy any.

Because you'd like to oversaturate, knock up the contrast and 'badly' compose but don't because it breaks your rules ?

Interesting site

Ok, is it just me who really doesn't 'get' the Greg Levine series?

I thought they were just plain rubbish. I understand he doesn't use decent equipment, but there was nothing to gain from his shots at all.

And all you need to be a cameraman these days is to have a high street camcorder, jam it on wide angle and shove it into people's faces (so they're distorted), then - tricky bit - set the focus to manual so you can make sure the wall behind them is sharp but they aren't. Then wiggle the camera about incessantly and chop the footage into 2 second clips. Finally, add a touch of 'side 1 track 1' drum and bass and a bint with lousy diction, and bingo, trendy TV programme

I'm glad there are such clear rules as to what is right and what is wrong, perhaps you should publish them so that everybody can comply with your view of the world ? That way everybody will always agree with you, and you'll think everything you see is just great . . .

Nothing to do with rules. There's quality and there's shit. A quality way of doing things and a shit way of doing things. The difference is that pros can do both; others can only do the shit.

fun website to look through, especially when youve had a few too many beers (your fault trackdemon). not too keen on the 3rd photographer, but all the others were good
