I've been using my Canon lenses for 4 years or so with a metabones. The sigma is supposed to be better adaptor. Af is usable on a7r2 wasn't on a7r.

I've been tempted picking up a small native lens or two, just not bothered...
Do you still use a Canon DSLR routinely with those lenses Rob or did you swap the body for mirrorless but hang onto the glass?

I was contemplating Canon M5 as a travel and “backup” body (with EF converter plus the native 22mm) for consistency and familiarity but it just seems very compromised compared to the full frame Sony for not much less money.

How do you get on with the Sony in comparison? Do they compliment each other well?

Appreciate it’s not the same model but I very recently moved from Nikon to Sony A7iii. I did have some trepidation about it until it was in my hands and I have started to use it.

I have to say I’m very impressed up to now, it’s a joy to handle and has some amazing features too!

Yeah , I could happily shoot with either one but they both have strengths.

The 5d4 is better built, better AF all round ergonomics, I shoot things that move, seascapes, astro etc.
The a7r2 has more detail and better files for landscape plus the evf for wysiwyg shooting

Neithers advantages are that huge so I often dont worry about which I pick up.
