Go Pro type action cam with 2.5 hour battery life or 12v

I'm looking at upgrading the video camera I use in the race car and was after a bit of advise of what to go for.
Look like I'll end up doing some 2 hour races so I need either a camera with 2.5ish hour battery life or that can be connected to a 12v supply.
I suppose in and Ideal world in would record in HD to save me wanting to change it it 6 months for something better.
some sort of remote for starting and stopping recording would also be useful, I seam to remember coming across a few cheap action cams which can be activated via a mobile phone last time I looked which would be ok.
At the moment I've been using a fake gopro type thing, I think its called an SJ4000 which I've been reasonably happy with the results but from time to time it will stop recording, I think after 2 or 3 years it's coming to the end of it's life.
