My old EOS 350D is showing signs of its age and focuses...but then the shutter won't release (or takes ~10s) to do so. My phone gets used for day to day shots but there are times when i'm touristing and i do like the proper camera.
So my question is, what to replace it with? I'm drawn to another Canon dslr, but how much would i lose really by going mirrorless- i do tend to shoot manual even if only to get how i want the light balance. I don't want compact- my phone does that (albeit with no zoom). The obvious contender seems to be the 800 but there appears to be very little between that, the 750 and the 77. I can't really see much difference on the headlines specs in the M cameras....

You don't have the self-timer on do you?

Nope did check that though...its random anything between 4s and 15s. It started of being worse in portrait than landscape and when the card gets full/with one card more than another. In fairness i'll probably work around it for a while longer given how often i actually use the thing!

I bought a 200D body in October as my daily camera.
I paid £407 on a deal at Curry's.
I'm absolutely thrilled with it.

Get a second hand body (40/50/60d) will feel alot better than your 350d - I went from a 350d to a 10d (older body) was such a nice thing to work with.

Not so sure on mirror less at the moment, not had any issues with my mirrored cameras for over 19 years, take great shots, still work and still make me money - just seems to be the buzzword I think at the min.

Is the 77D actually an xxD or an xxxD camera in disguise?

Harrisons in Sheffield have a reasonable reputation.
I got a film body (EOS30V) from there recently.

Other option is to check out the talkphotography forum classifieds - most people on there seem to be pretty good - as well as a few other things (gimbal head, video head, flash triggers), I've personally bought a Canon 24-105 f4L and a 70-200 f2.8L IS mark1 from different people on there without issues, and for a decent price. One was posted, the second I picked up in person.
