Cheers, good feedback.

I use my phone for those convenience shots currently too, but it has a horribly slow unresponsive camera with potato image quality (especially in low light).
The problem that I have with phone camera getting better is over-reliance. The iPhone XS has a really good camera for wide, well lit shots, and that has made me less likely to take even a small camera with me.

We went on holiday earlier in the year and I decided just to take the phone. I got a lot of good shots with it, but missed out on anything that needed any zoom and anything where the light was less than perfect.

That was annoying as even my RX100 mk1 would have nailed most of the shots, although I'd have still missed the long zoom ones.

I ended up getting the Sony DSCHX60 - it fits in the pocket and does a pretty good all round job for holidays etc.
