...based on Clive Cussler novels featuring Dirk Pitt. Cinematic effects model from the making of that movie, which predates the discovery of the wreck of Titanic, and before proper historical examination of eyewitness testimony which would have confirmed that the real wreck was in no fit state to be raised.

I actually liked the movie, but I think I'd have been about 12 then, so that was more about the action than the history behind it.
