That's just plain thoughtless. She's obviously very unhappy. Look how long her face is.

I have constructed a Zappa Universe on my PC. There are tens of thousands of hyperlinked files that comprise every album track ever released, as well as ALL the bootlegged live recordings that have ever circulated, about 850 shows. There are analytical files for all the songs, biographies of the musicians on them, all linked in to a detailed illustrated chronology of Zappa’s life and musical career several hundred pages long. Also a video section with all the films Zappa released, biographical studies, live performances, and TV appearances.

I have spent over 25 years working on this, and I am trying to complete it before I fall over. With luck I will. But new stuff still keeps coming. I read just this week that there will be a new 3 CD box set of recordings of the original Mothers at the Whiskey A Go Go in 1968 released in June.

Some people like computer games, but I find doing this is much more constructive.
All joking aside.

I am genuinely impressed by your dedication. That's a fantastic resource. I know that Frank recorded every show.

I was lucky enough to see him play live twice.

Once at Knebworth, where he sat on a throne while not playing/conducting and secondly at the Hammersmith Odeon.

His music transcends genres. His playing was sublime. There's hundreds of examples of the man's skill.

One that jumps to mind is 'Stevie's Spanking', where Stevie Vai is left in awe of Frank's skill.

I absolutely commend you for your efforts, Roofless. What a wonderful way to spend your time.

Though, keeping up with the Muffin Utility Kitchen's output over the years must be a Hurculean task!

I hope this sort of thing is either already on the internet somewhere so that it won't be lost, or plans are in place to make sure it is not lost!

It is already on the internet - that’s where I got it all from!

All I have done is put it all in the same place, chronologically arranged it, and put in thousands of hyperlinks so you can navigate around. There are far too many property rights problems to ever contemplate publishing it, even on a not for profit basis. Not only music and video, but material from my library of Zappa books as well.

I have just checked, and at the moment my Zappa Universe consists of 255GB spread over 22,830 files, and growing.

Off topic in the forum, I know, but just for Blib, here’s Zappa and Vai.

Holy st, that was utterly mesmeric. I have an odd thing whereby watching/hearing musicians so utterly at one with their craft can easily bring a tear of joy to my eye, and I can contentedly tell you that I'm in the cusp of flooding my sandwich!

If there's ever been a more accomplished guitarist than Zappa I've yet to hear them.

There's hundreds of hours of solos within dozens of albums.

He was taken from us far too soon.

Banning yourself is the sort of behaviour that will get you banned by Blib.

I’d get over the lack of pictures, I’d get over the amount of idle chit chat, I’d even get over people enjoying this thread….

But being nice to each other, seriously ?? Blanket bans all round.
