Sure, but if you have to carry multiple spare batteries for a multi-day hiking trip (for example) then it does make a difference to the practical weight comparison against a DSLR that can do the whole lot on a single charge.
On my last multiday hike (Chamonix-Zermatt) I used micro 4/3 instead of DSLR (so similar weight) I found the extra batteries were negligible when you have a 3kg water load. Paring back to 2 lenses (and actually I only used one) was the bigger challenge. wink
Yes, lens choice is always an issue! I generally take the 18-140 into the hills on the Nikon but have done the odd easier trip with a wide angle and a big heavy telephoto as well for wildlife.

I was thinking of a fairly extreme example when I wrote that post - an 11 day wilderness hiking/mountaineering trip where I ended up taking around 1800 shots ( https://flic.kr/s/aHskstL1rE album if you are interested). I didn't even take a spare battery because I was already carrying about 30kg and I was confident with how long it would last. That many shots would need 5 spare batteries if 350 per battery is accurate, which is 250g. But if you get closer to 500 per battery then you would only need 3 spares.

Having said that, comparing equivalent cameras and lenses...

D7200 (765g) + 18-140 (490g) = 1255g
X-T2 (507g) + 18-135 (490g) = 997g
Difference = 258g

So an X-T2 + 5 batteries is actually still marginally lighter hehe and for shorter trips (which is most of them) you might only take one or two spares.

Obviously there are lighter Fuji options too if you are willing to sacrifice weather sealing, that was just the most direct comparison.
